Director, HR Regional Center of Excellence – US & Canada
Epiroc is seeking an experienced HR operations leader to join our organization as Director, HR Regional Center of Excellence (RCoE) – US & Canada. This is a senior leadership role for someone who thrives in environments where HR foundations are still being built and scaled—while simultaneously innovating for the future needs of a global workforce.
This is a true “flying the plane while building it” opportunity: strengthening HR infrastructure, systems, and services, while shaping what HR must become in the years ahead.
About the Role
As Director, HR Regional Center of Excellence – US & Canada, you will lead HR operations across a complex, multi‑entity region supporting 2,200+ employees. You will lead a team of 20–25 HR professionals, with 3–5 direct reports.
Some HR capabilities are well established; others are still evolving. Your mandate is to build durable infrastructure, improve consistency and reliability, and modernize service delivery—without slowing the business down.
Customer service and relationship management are a large part of the scope of this role – customers include the HR Managers and General Managers of the Operations, the Global HR Center of Excellence team and HR Leadership – with regular collaboration meetings occurring to present KPIs, seek feedback on improvements.
This role operates at a high pace with significant scope and responsibility. The workload is meaningful, but so is the opportunity to make a visible, lasting impact. This is not a maintenance role—it is a build, scale, and transform role.
Key Responsibilities
RCoE Leadership & Scope
Lead and continuously evolve the US & Canada HR RCoE, with ownership for the following functions:
- Full‑cycle recruitment
- Pre‑Day 1 onboarding
- Employment branding
- Compensation administration
- Benefits administration (health and financial)
- Mobility (immigration, relocation, global assignments)
- Learning & Development system administration (Cornerstone LMS)
- Payroll and HR administration, including full owndership of Dayforce System
- HR systems collaboration with the global HRIS team managing SuccessFactors
Building, Scale & Complexity
- Strengthen HR foundations while advancing future‑ready capabilities
- Operate effectively in a high‑volume, fast‑moving environment across multiple systems, entities, and stakeholders
- Bring structure, clarity, and calm amid complexity and change
Budget & Financial Accountability
- Full ownership of the US & Canada HR RCoE operating budget, including headcount, vendors, and systems
- Ensure strong financial governance while balancing cost, scalability, and employee experience
M&A Integration & Growth
- Support mergers and acquisitions as needed, integrating newly acquired entities into the RCoE model
- Lead HR operational readiness, stabilization, and transition while maintaining service continuity

What You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or MBA preferred
12+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership in HR Operations, Shared Services, or RCoE environments
Proven success leading and developing large HR teams (20+) in complex, multi-entity organizations
Strong operational leadership across core HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, compensation, benefits, payroll, and HR systems
Experience supporting US & Canada with solid knowledge of employment laws and compliance
Experience managing HR budgets, vendors, and supporting M&A integrations
Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working in global, matrixed organizations
Analytical, data-driven leader with strong communication and change management skills
Experience with HR systems such as SAP SuccessFactors, Dayforce, or similar preferred
HR certification such as SHRM-CP/SCP or HR Certification Institute PHR/SPHR preferred
Compensation or Total Rewards certifications (CCP, GRP, CBP, TRP) preferred
Bilingual capability preferred; French is a strong asset
Executive presence with the ability to lead in fast-paced, evolving environments
