Maximus Federal is currently seeking a Director, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to provide strategic HR leadership for the Health Benefit Management unit. Reporting to the Vice President - HRBP, this role partners with business leaders to shape HR strategy, drive organizational development, manage talent, promote employee engagement, and align HR initiatives with business goals. The Director leads the HRBP team and customizes HR programs to meet both immediate and future needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as a key advisor to the VP of Operations and other direct staff.
- Participate in the development of Project business strategies and goals.
- Implement business strategies and goals into human resources initiatives.
- Direct recruitment and hiring efforts to ensure compliance with Maximus policies, federal and state laws.
- Participate in the development and administration of benefits programs, compensation structures, compliance and reporting functions, performance management, new hire orientation, and employee relations.
Job-Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Partner with senior business leaders and executives to define and execute HR strategies that align with business goals, driving organizational performance and operational effectiveness.
- Provide thought leadership on key HR initiatives, advising leadership on best practices related to workforce planning, organizational design, and leadership development.
- Leverage data to guide talent and performance decisions, enhancing the organization's ability to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
- Foster a collaborative, high-impact HR team culture focused on delivering results and supporting the business's strategic goals.
- Continuously evaluate and improve HR programs, policies, and practices to ensure they meet the evolving needs of the business and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Align with key HR stakeholder leaders to assess intersectionality of initiatives, address current and/or anticipated challenges, and maintain transparency.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, influencing business decisions through a deep understanding of business operations, industry trends, and HR analytics, while also advising on complex business issues.
- Lead and develop a team of HR professionals, setting clear expectations, providing coaching, and ensuring the team is aligned with business goals and equipped to execute HR initiatives effectively.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- 10-12 years experience.
Job-Specific Minimum Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study; equivalent work experience considered in lieu of degree.
- 10+ years of relevant professional experience required
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders in complex workforce environments.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in HR technology systems (e.g., Workday).
Preferred Skills and Qualification s :
- SPHR/PHR certification preferred.

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
