Seeking a strong leader that will direct all global Procurement efforts across the Corporation on Indirect Goods and Services. This individual will achieve success through strong interpersonal skills, Procurement knowledge and utilization of best Procurement practices. Manages a team of Procurement professionals across the globe to deliver impressive results. Forms strong relationships with the functional heads in order to establish joint goals to maximize total Value to the organization through increasing speed of delivery, minimizing risk, obtaining the lowest total of ownership whilst driving a reduction in environmental impact of the Corporation.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Be an advocate for and drive the G.P.O. model in all aspects.
  • Provide leadership in the discipline of Category Management and the formulation of Category Strategies.
  • Drive and embed environmental and sustainability principles in all sourcing and procurement activities.
  • Provide guidance on executing Strategic Sourcing initiatives.
  • Participate in Supplier Relationship Management meetings as required.
  • Manage re-negotiation allocation of expiring contracts for indirect goods and services.
  • Prioritize contractual workload for Legal on indirect goods and services contracts.
  • Hold Category Managers to account for delivery against strategic sourcing project plan dates and delivery of Value.
  • Provide training and fully exercise the tools of Procurement in value creation.
  • Ensure the development of Category Strategies with business partners to provide the Corporation with optimized cost solutions.
  • Obtain tiered pricing wherever possible for unit volume ranges.
  • Ensure direct reports follow meeting discipline on agenda and minutes and saving to central repository.
  • Create, develop and establish best-practice processes.
  • Identify and drive cost-savings programs and cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Effectively manage risk of non-supply of goods and services through sourcing strategy and contracting.
  • Minimize the working capital of the company without jeopardizing manufacturing.
  • Develop and maintain a rolling 3-year program of procurement projects.
  • Facilitate sales by bringing supplier innovation into the Corporations product pipeline.
  • Ensure KPI’s and KRI’s are utilized to measure the contribution of the department.
  • Provide leadership of cross-functional teams as directed.
  • Ensure sourcing is conducted on a global scale to create value from suppliers and for customers.
  • Drive and utilize eSourcing in the relevant circumstances to drive Value for the Corporation.
  • Ensure the structure of the department is aligned to support Business Units most effectively.
  • Establish short-, mid-, and long-term goals for staff and drive these for execution.
  • Manage staff ensuring they have a growth plan, regular goals feedback, coaching and where appropriate, mentoring.
  • Develop procurement staff to ensure an effective succession plan within the function.
  • Participate in an established cadence of internal and external meetings in line with a Communication Plan.
Travel: 0 – 15% of time.

Basic Qualifications:
  • ​​Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering.
  • ​Recognized Qualification in Procurement or equivalent.
  • ​A minimum of 10 years in Procurement Management ideally with a background in supply chain management or manufacturing.
  • ​5 Years experience of successfully managing an international team.
  • ​3 years Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences industry experience.
  • ​In depth knowledge of Category Management and Strategic Sourcing.
  • ​Solid working knowledge and practical experience of MRP. A Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), Oracle and/or SAP background.
  • ​Experienced in eSourcing (eRFI/P/Q/Auction).
  • ​Experience in a formalized Supplier Relationship Management program.
  • ​Strong verbal English and written English communication skills including the ability to make effective presentations.
  • ​Leading experience and knowledge in negotiation preparation and execution.
  • ​Proven consistent success in complex negotiations and experience in leading in a negotiation team.
  • ​Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project and AO or Visio.
  • ​​Demonstrated change management experience and implementing processes through to completion.
  • ​Ability to make sound independent judgments regularly.
  • ​Demonstrated ability to consistently exceed goals.
  • ​Sound financial skills including interpretation of company accounts.
  • ​Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in parallel to conclusion.
  • ​Extensive knowledge of customs and practices across countries and “Culturally Aware”.​
