Director, Integrated Communications

Job Description:
The Director, Integrated Communications will execute dentsu’s integrated communications strategy across external and internal including brand sponsorships, thought leadership and internal agency narrative. Our ideal teammate is someone with an innate ability to identify, articulate and execute on our strategic agency narrative across capabilities, clients and thought leadership.

Reporting to the VP, Communications Lead, Americas, this role is a leader of our proactive and reactive communications and will serve as a connector across marketing and communications capabilities and teams. It requires an effective balance of strategy and execution, strong relationship-building skills, and deep understanding of dentsu’s solutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, executive presence and cross-functional collaboration skills are a must.
  • Support development and activation against dentsu’s “distinctly dentsu” narrative and capabilities across internal and external channels
  • Support brand sponsorship execution and communications, as well as event communications
  • Support in building and activating integrated communications plans for dentsu external narratives, announcements and thought leadership across channels (PR, web, social, email, etc.)
  • Serve as a connector between the marketing and communications team and the Integrated Client Leadership team, creating communication pathways in support of events, sponsorships and other key initiatives, and helping to curate key client work to enable case study development and promotion of our client work
  • Partner with the global and local thought leadership teams to better track thought leadership calendar and cadence, and lead development of internal and external communications plans for pieces
  • Partner with other teams across the organization including growth to better orchestrate narrative alignment and delivery
Requirements:
  • Minimum 8+ years of in-house or agency experience, ideally in the advertising industry
  • Ability to take story ideas from concept to launch – creating themes that can be weaved through public relations, social, digital, executive speaking engagements, and more.
  • Established relationships with a broad range of media and outlets
  • Experience leading campaigns or programs around entertainment, content or talent/creator storytelling
  • Experience managing a crisis communications function, with a track record of successfully mitigating high-profile business and consumer issues with press, employees, and key stakeholders.
  • Ability to bring clarity to ambiguous situations and act decisively.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
The annual salary range for this position is $114,425-$150,000. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
