Job Summary

Managing the Islamic origination for flow business primarily for KSA and other assigned GCC markets, assigned from time to time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy - Work with the Islamic Origination (Corporate & Investment Banking - CIB) team to achieve the Global Islamic Banking strategy, aligning to the Group's strategy and the strategy of the relevant businesses and geographies.
  • Business
    • Play a proactive role in meeting the business objectives of Saadiq Islamic banking by achieving financial and non financial KPIs.
    • Monitor and be up to date with business performance to drive productivity and growth of CIB Saadiq.
    • Assist in developing campaigns enhancing the brand awareness & sales of CIB Saadiq products.
    • Enhance solutions and the client value proposition of Saadiq CIB products.
    • Explore opportunities to establish partnerships and alliances for CIB Saadiq products.
    • Track competitor activities and come up with counter strategies to promote innovative products aligned with Islamic Shariah Guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Processes
    • Adhere to applicable internal policies related to governance, operational risk, credit, etc.
    • Follow all processes identified and outlined under Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Operational Risk Framework (ORF).
    • Accountable to risk control owners and/or Group policy owners for the implementation of policies and control standards, ensuring compliance and operating within risk tolerance and appetite, and building a culture of good conduct.
  • Governance
    • Monitor and update senior management on Islamic Banking performance.
    • Maintain awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the country operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
    • Deliver effective governance; challenge fellow executives and work cooperatively with local regulators.
    • Adhere to the Shariah Governance Framework and implement Shariah and governance requirements set by Shariah & regulators.

  • Other Responsibilities
    • Embed SCB brand and values in business across SCB footprints.
    • Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.
    • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders (business, legal, operations, etc.) in Saadiq countries to drive the common Saadiq agenda.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree
    • Experience in banking and finance (Islamic preferred) across Corporate & Institutional Banking in KSA and wider GCC region.
    • Local market contacts at corporates with ability to originate/facilitate origination.
    • Corporate experience required.
    • Knowledge of Islamic products.
    • Understanding of Shariah products.
  • Training - As required by the Bank, industry, and regulators.
