ABOUT

This is a full-time, twelve-month professional position that reports to the Vice President, Operations. The Director, Marketing & Communications provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all TJC marketing, communications, public relations, and brand management functions. This position is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive strategies that drive student enrollment, enhance institutional reputation, and ensure consistent brand messaging across all internal and external communication channels. The Director serves as the primary authority for all TJC marketing and communications, ensuring compliance with brand standards, web accessibility guidelines (ADA), and institutional policies.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Strategic Planning & Leadership

  • Develop and implement integrated marketing strategies aligned with the College's mission, strategic plan, and enrollment goals
  • Provide strategic direction for all marketing, branding, communications, photography, videography, and publication efforts
  • Serve as advisor to senior leadership on matters concerning internal and external communications, including crisis communications
  • Lead public relations efforts that enhance institutional reputation and community presence

Marketing & Enrollment

  • Create data-driven marketing plans using analytics, market research, and performance metrics to optimize campaigns and measure ROI
  • Plan, develop, execute, and evaluate targeted multi-channel marketing campaigns to drive student recruitment and retention
  • Develop and manage informative, engaging, and motivational digital marketing campaigns across multiple platforms
  • Partner with Admissions, Registrar, Advising /Testing to align marketing strategies with enrollment priorities
  • Monitor campaign performance and adjust strategies based on analytics and market trends

Communications & Public Relations

  • Oversee all internal and external communications to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with TJC’s values
  • Manage crisis communications and serve as primary spokesperson during emergencies, including natural disasters, health crises, and unexpected events
  • Maintain strong relationships with media representatives and coordinate strategic media outreach

Brand Management & Content Development

  • Ensure consistent application of brand standards across all TJC communications, publications, and marketing materials
  • Direct the development and maintenance of the College website, ensuring optimal user experience, search engine optimization (SEO), and ADA/WCAG compliance
  • Oversee management of all social media platforms and digital presence
  • Provide content writing support and editorial oversight for all institutional communications

WHO YOU ARE

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Communication, Business, or related field.

Required Experience

Five years of increasing experience in marketing, public relations, and communications, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity.

Preferred Education

Master’s Degree in a related field

Preferred Qualifications

Media management experience
