This includes jointly designing processes, governance frameworks, training programs, and scalable operating models that balance global standards with regional and segment-specific requirements. The role will actively engage MedTech operations teams to ensure trade solutions are embedded into day-to-day execution, while maintaining compliance and regional agility.
  • Driving comprehensive oversight of North America trade‑related risks with emphasis on regulatory exposure, cross‑border vulnerabilities, and end‑to‑end compliance controls. The role establishes risk‑based governance frameworks, implements corrective and preventive actions, and ensures operational resilience to prevent penalties, delays, and supply disruptions. Oversight includes targeted management of customs brokers and other critical trade partners to ensure their performance, data quality, and controls align with J&J’s regulatory standards and support ongoing risk‑mitigation objectives.
  • Lead change management and transformation initiatives, including defining and executing a structured transformation roadmap, building change capability across the NA and global trade operations team, and driving stakeholder alignment to enable sustainable process and operating model improvements.
  • Partner with the Trade Controls Process & Technology team to operationalize capabilities and projects that improve existing processes to support trade compliance activities and/or business objectives at regional level. Drive alignment with business data owners to ensure compliant Cross Border Trade data, Import and Export filings with cross-border movements, and import and export licensing, including export due diligence practices.
  • Ensure compliant trade operations while maintaining service levels and performance for high velocity logistics operations by providing expert guidance and driving alignment with the Global Trade Control Standard and evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Drive required transformations across data, systems and processes to evolve to best in class compliant and high performing operations.
  • Support customs and trade compliance education, training, and roll-out of global standards.
  • Ensure standard operating procedures, controls, and process improvements to ensure risk and provide value to the business.
  • Drive the strategic roadmap for the upgrade and deployment of trade technologies and data solutions for Trade Operations, partnering with MedTech IT and Master Data teams to enable upstream data quality and ERP integrations that ensure accurate inventory controls.
  • Support supply chain optimization efforts across the globe that minimize costs and reduce risk.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders (Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, IT, Tax, Finance) to ensure cross‑functional alignment.
  • Partner with J&J Quality, Health Care Compliance, and other cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure activities are managed within the appropriate corporate frameworks and comply with Johnson & Johnson policies, standards and guidelines, including RIM, Global Trade Standards, Procurement Policies, Travel Policy, and Training requirements.
