The Director of Accountability Courts serves as the lead administrator for the Accountability Court programs within the Macon Judicial Circuit, including Macon-Bibb Adult Drug Court, Mental Health Court, Peach-Crawford Accountability Court (PCAC) and other treatment-focused court initiatives; however, the employee would be considered a Macon-Bibb County employee. This position provides strategic leadership, program management, and staff supervision to ensure effective operation of these problem-solving courts.
The Director is responsible for ensuring compliance with standards established by the Georgia Council of Accountability Court Judges (CACJ), securing and managing grant funding, strengthening partnerships across the criminal justice and behavioral health systems, and expanding access to Accountability Court services. The Director reports directly to the Superior Court Judges of the Macon Judicial Circuit.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership and Administration

Provide leadership, oversight, and management of Accountability Court programs including Adult Drug Court, Mental Health Court, PCAC and related initiatives.

Supervise program coordinators, case managers, and other Accountability Court staff.

Develop and implement policies, procedures, and operational practices aligned with state and national Accountability Court standards.

Ensure programs operate in compliance with Georgia Council of Accountability Court Judges (CACJ) standards and reporting requirements.

Monitor program performance and implement strategies to improve participant outcomes and program effectiveness.

Oversee the coordination and operation of related services, including the Macon Judicial Drug Testing Lab.
Grant Development and Fiscal Management-
Identify, pursue, and manage grant funding to sustain and expand Accountability Court programs.

Prepare and submit grant applications and funding requests to CACJ, Macon-Bibb County, Peach and Crawford Counties, and other funding sources.

Ensure compliance with grant requirements, reporting obligations, and fiscal accountability.

Develop and manage program budgets and monitor program expenditures.
Community and Criminal Justice Partnerships-
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders including District Attorneys, Public Defenders, criminal defense attorneys, law enforcement agencies, jail personnel, treatment providers, and community leaders and partners.

Educate referral sources and community stakeholders about Accountability Court eligibility, operations, and benefits.

Represent the Accountability Courts in community meetings, professional organizations, and public forums.
Strategic Development and Program Growth-
Develop strategies to increase participation in Accountability Court programs while maintaining program integrity and adherence to best practices.

Evaluate emerging trends and innovations in problem-solving courts and implement improvements when appropriate.

Collaborate with other jurisdictions and visit model programs to identify effective practices.
Reporting and Judicial Coordination-
Provide regular reports and updates to the Superior Court Judges regarding program performance, compliance, and participant outcomes.

Coordinate training and professional development opportunities for staff and program partners.

Attend statewide Accountability Court training courses and professional conferences to maintain knowledge of best practices.
A Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Public Administration, Behavioral Health, Psychology, or related field is preferred. Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams.. Experience with grant writing, grant administration, or public funding processes. Familiarity with Georgia Council of Accountability Court Judges (CACJ) standards and accountability court best practices. Accountability Court Coordinator Certification. Demonstrated leadership and management experience. Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills. Must possess a valid Georgia Driver's License with a good driving history.
