Director of Accounting and Finance

<Responsibilities>

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic financial plans aligned with organizational goals, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Oversee all aspects of corporate accounting functions such as general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, cost accounting, and account analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory reporting requirements, including adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), IAS (International Accounting Standards), and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
  • Manage treasury functions including cash flow analysis, investment management, risk analysis, and cost control to safeguard assets and optimize liquidity.
  • Supervise financial statement preparation, interpretation, and presentation to internal stakeholders and external regulators or auditors.
  • Implement rigorous risk management protocols to identify potential financial threats and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Drive business development initiatives by analyzing financial data to identify growth opportunities and support strategic investments.
  • Lead a team of finance professionals by providing mentorship in areas such as governmental accounting, public accounting practices, technical accounting issues, and compliance management.
  • Foster continuous improvement in financial software systems for enhanced accuracy in balance sheet reconciliation, financial report writing, and overall financial management processes.

<Requirements>

  • Proven experience in senior finance roles with extensive knowledge of corporate finance principles, risk analysis, and fiscal management.
  • Deep understanding of GAAP, IFRS, IAS standards, ASC 606 revenue recognition rules, and governmental accounting practices.
  • Strong expertise in financial concepts such as profit & loss analysis, cost management, budget creation, forecasting techniques, and investment management.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide cross-functional teams in complex financial environments while maintaining high standards of accuracy in account reconciliation and bookkeeping.
  • Proficiency with advanced financial software tools for general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliation, cash flow analysis, and compliance tracking.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail in account analysis and risk management strategies.
  • Exceptional communication skills for clear financial report writing and interpretation tailored to diverse audiences including executive leadership and external regulators.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred; advanced degrees or certifications related to public or non-profit accounting are a plus. Pay: $72,491.52 - $87,301.62 per year
