About Us:

We are a mission-driven mental health agency dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality care to our community. We are beginning a multi‑year effort to thoughtfully integrate artificial intelligence into our clinical, administrative, and operational workflows while maintaining the highest standards of privacy, ethics, and compliance.

Position Summary:

The Director of AI Integration will lead the strategy, implementation, and governance of AI tools across the agency. This role sits at the intersection of technology, clinical practice, and compliance—ensuring that AI solutions are safe, effective, privacy‑preserving, and aligned with our values and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA).

You will partner closely with clinical leadership, IT, compliance, and operations to identify high‑value use cases, evaluate vendors and tools, oversee implementation, and support staff training and change management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and own a multi‑year AI strategy for the agency, aligned with organizational goals and client outcomes.

  • Identify and prioritize AI use cases across clinical services, care coordination, administration, billing, quality improvement, and outreach.

  • Evaluate AI tools and vendors (e.g., documentation assistants, triage tools, analytics platforms, chatbots) for safety, efficacy, and fit with mental health workflows.

  • Ensure all AI solutions comply with relevant privacy and security regulations (e.g., HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2 as applicable, state privacy laws) and internal policies.

  • Work with legal/compliance teams to develop AI governance policies, including data use, consent, human oversight, and risk management.

  • Collaborate with IT to design secure technical architectures, including data access controls, de‑identification/pseudonymization, and audit logging.

  • Lead pilots, implementation, and scaling of AI tools, including defining success metrics and monitoring impact on quality, equity, and client experience.

  • Develop and deliver training, guidelines, and best practices to clinicians and staff on safe, ethical, and effective use of AI.


  • Establish processes for continuous monitoring of AI systems, including bias, performance drift, and user feedback, and drive improvements or de‑implementation when needed.

  • Serve as an internal subject-matter expert on AI trends, opportunities, risks, and regulatory developments in behavioral health.

  • Prepare reports and presentations for leadership, board members, and funders on progress, impact, and future needs.


Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Health Informatics, Psychology, Public Health, or related).

  • 5+ years of experience in health, behavioral health, or related human services setting, with at least 2–3 years working directly with data, analytics, or AI/ML tools.

  • Demonstrated experience leading technology or innovation projects from concept to implementation in a regulated environment.

  • Working knowledge of healthcare privacy and security principles (e.g., HIPAA; understanding of PHI, BAAs, and data governance).

  • Strong ability to translate between technical and non‑technical stakeholders, especially clinicians and frontline staff.

  • Excellent project management, communication, and change management skills.

  • Commitment to equity, client-centered care, and ethical technology use.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Health Informatics, Data Science, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Clinical Psychology, Social Work with strong tech focus).

  • Experience in a mental health or behavioral health organization.

  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML tools or platforms (e.g., LLM-based systems, predictive models, clinical decision support, or automation tools).

  • Familiarity with 42 CFR Part 2, state-level privacy laws, and/or AI ethics frameworks.

  • Experience developing or overseeing AI governance, risk, or compliance processes

Compensation:

Full Time Salary: $75,000 - $95,000
