Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Business Development in Mobility Engineering Services to drive sales across North America by building new client relationships and strengthening existing partnerships, while promoting CS TECH Ai's engineering expertise and technical capabilities. This pivotal person will be responsible for driving sales growth by identifying client needs, developing engineering service opportunities, and managing customer relationships within automotive, commercial vehicle, and manufacturing automation industries. This role will focus on selling: Mechanical and Electronic Product Development Support, Technical Consulting, CAE/Simulation Services, Manufacturing Engineering Services, and Validation/Testing Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and pursue new customer accounts, programs, and business opportunities within target markets.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve company growth objectives.
- Generate qualified leads through networking, referrals, trade shows, and industry relationships.
- Build, manage, and maintain a healthy sales pipeline and forecast activity.
- Achieve revenue, profitability, and margin targets.
- Lead commercial negotiations including contracts, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and pricing discussions.
- Establish and maintain long-term customer relationships as the primary commercial point of contact.
- Understand customer engineering challenges and business objectives to align solutions with client needs.
- Coordinate executive business reviews, account planning activities, and customer growth strategies.
- Support customer retention, account expansion, and overall client satisfaction initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define and position technical service offerings.
- Support development of technical proposals, quotations, and Statements of Work.
- Translate technical capabilities and engineering concepts into clear business value propositions.
- Support quoting activities and resource planning to ensure accurate project scoping and successful execution.
- Align customer requirements with internal engineering capabilities, resources, and delivery strategies.
- Coordinate with recruiting, engineering, and delivery teams to support staffing and project execution.
- Help ensure successful project launches and smooth customer onboarding processes.
- Monitor project health, customer satisfaction, and overall account performance.
- Identify, communicate, and escalate commercial risks, delivery concerns, and customer issues as needed.
- Monitor competitor activity, industry trends, and market conditions to identify strategic opportunities.
- Identify emerging technologies, market trends, and new business opportunities within the automotive and engineering sectors.
- Track OEM and Tier-1 sourcing activity to support business development efforts and strategic planning.
- Contribute to long-term strategic growth initiatives and market expansion planning.
Experience & Qualifications
- 8–10 years of diversified industrial experience, preferably within engineering services, mobility, or advanced manufacturing environments.
- Engineering degree preferred, or equivalent technical background with demonstrated experience supporting engineering-driven solutions and customer engagements.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and virtual collaboration tools.
- Established client relationships and industry experience across Automotive (ICE and EV), Agriculture & Construction Equipment, Machine Tools, Robotics, and Material Handling Equipment sectors.
- Proven ability to develop business opportunities within OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and industrial manufacturing organizations.
- Experience working in cross-functional environments involving engineering, recruiting, operations, and executive leadership teams.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and strategic account management skills.
- Ability to understand customer technical requirements and translate them into commercial opportunities and engineering solutions.
Preferred Technical Knowledge
- Understanding of product engineering development processes and cross-functional coordination.
- Familiarity with CAD and CAE tools and engineering workflows.
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods, fabrication processes, and typical tooling practices.
- Basic understanding of systems engineering principles and product integration.
- Working knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and processes.
- Experience supporting or interacting with OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.
- Understanding of product development coordination from concept through production launch.
