About the Role:
The Director of Construction is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing end to end construction execution for modular construction and real estate development projects. This position leads field and factory integrated construction operations, managing projects from pre construction through final delivery. The role partners closely with design, manufacturing, and development teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget while supporting scalable, repeatable modular construction processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all construction operations including site preparation, modular installation, vertical construction coordination, and project closeout.

  • Manage multiple concurrent construction projects across various stages of development.

  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and factory teams to ensure constructability, sequencing, and efficient modular delivery.

  • Direct and oversee general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal field teams.

  • Develop and maintain construction schedules, budgets, cost controls, and quality assurance standards.

  • Conduct regular site walks, safety audits, and subcontractor performance evaluations.

  • Lead weekly construction and project status meetings, reporting on schedule, budget, risk, and issue resolution.

  • Support permitting, inspections, and compliance with building codes and regulatory requirements.

  • Drive continuous improvement by systematizing modular construction and field execution processes.

  • Recruit, train, and lead a high performing construction and field operations team.

Qualifications:

  • Ten or more years of experience in construction management or field operations.

  • At least three years of experience in a director level or senior construction leadership role.

  • Direct hands on experience with modular, prefabricated, or panelized construction methods.

  • Strong background in both horizontal site development and vertical building construction.

  • Proven ability to manage construction budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and cross functional teams.

  • Working knowledge of construction safety standards, OSHA requirements, and building codes.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.

  • Experience working closely with real estate developers, municipalities, inspectors, and third party consultants.

  • Familiarity with California construction regulations, inspections, and entitlement processes.

  • Experience building scalable construction systems within a growing or entrepreneurial organization.
