State Department Federal Credit Union is seeking a Director of Consumer Lending to lead and manage the activities of our consumer lending and indirect departments. This pivotal role focuses on optimizing loan processing, servicing, and compliance to ensure both efficiency and effectiveness.
The Director of Consumer Lending will drive operational excellence, streamline processes, and enhance the customer experience within the consumer lending sector. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the consumer lending operations team, including loan processing, underwriting, servicing, and collections.

Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize loan processing and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive performance improvements and operational efficiencies.

Assemble, lead, and facilitate teams in the development and implementation of key department projects and initiatives.

Participate and/or lead in the recruitment and selection process to ensure the Credit Union has the necessary talent to accomplish business and department goals.

Assists with the configuration and maintenance of the institutions Operating System (OS) system – Meridian Link, Point of Sale System, and all other integrated technologies such as Core Systems and CRM.
- Support the development and promotion of loan products and services.

Assist in maintaining and updating Credit Union Consumer Lending policies and procedures to comply with government regulations and changes in loan services.

Ensure timely and accurate completion of section responsibilities within established guidelines, KPI metrics and SLAs.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the consumer lending operations
Required Skills and Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, etc or equivalent experience.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in consumer lending operations with a proven track record of managing teams and optimizing processes.

Strong vendor relationship management and contract negotiation skills

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in accounting software and financial modeling tools.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
