Position Summary:
The Director of Content is responsible for leading the end-to-end planning, strategic alignment, and performance optimization of TOD’s content portfolio.
The role acts as the central function connecting content strategy, planning, scheduling, and performance insights, ensuring all content decisions are data-driven, commercially aligned, and effectively executed across MENA.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Content Strategy & Planning

Lead the development and execution of content planning strategies aligned with TOD’s business objectives.

Translate strategic direction into actionable content roadmaps (annual, quarterly, seasonal).

Define content priorities across sports and entertainment based on audience demand and market insights.

Content Marketing

Lead content marketing activities aimed at driving user engagement and retention on platform.

Develop content marketing material, leading crafting the narrative around the streaming library, optimizing content discoverability, and managing the entire content lifecycle across digital platforms.

Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to undertake marketing campaigns to promote content on platform.

Content Planning & Scheduling Oversight

Oversee Content Planning and Scheduling functions across sports and entertainment.

Ensure optimal scheduling strategies to maximize engagement, reach, and monetization.

Supervise planning managers and ensure alignment across all content pipelines.

Content Portfolio Optimization

Optimize content mix across acquisitions, originals, and programming to drive performance.
-
Ensure alignment between content supply, demand, and platform objectives.

Continuously refine the content portfolio based on performance insights and market trends.

Data, Insights & Performance Management

Lead performance tracking across key KPIs (engagement, subscriber growth, churn, ROI).

Work closely with Analytics teams to generate actionable insights.

Provide regular performance reports and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Cross-Functional Alignment

Collaborate closely with Content, Marketing, Product, Technology, and Analytics teams.

Ensure alignment between content planning and:

Customer acquisition campaigns

Monetization models (SVOD, AVOD, hybrid)

Budget & Commercial Support

Support content investment planning and budget allocation decisions.

Ensure efficient utilization of content budgets with a strong ROI focus.

Contribute to business cases and content valuation analysis.

Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis

Monitor market trends and competitor strategies (e.g., Netflix, Shahid, Disney+, Starzplay).

Identify opportunities to strengthen TOD’s positioning in MENA and beyond.

Leadership & Team Management
-
Lead and manage Content Planning and Scheduling teams (Managers and Specialists).
-
Set clear objectives and performance KPIs for the team.

Drive a high-performance, data-driven culture.
Experience:
12 years in content strategy, planning, or media operations
Strong experience in OTT, broadcast, or digital platforms
