A Brief Overview
The Director of Decision Support leads the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the health system's enterprise-wide decision support function. The role promotes a culture of data-driven decision making, ensuring the availability of accurate, timely, actionable insights to support operations, finance, strategic planning, and clinical decision processes. The Director collaborates closely with Finance, Strategy, Revenue Cycle, and Operations to develop a single source of truth, standardize analytical methodologies, and integrate financial, operational, and clinical data throughout the organization.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Finance, Buisiness Management, or closely related field Required
  • Master's Degree Strongly preferred Preferred


Experience Qualifications

  • 5 years In decision support, finance or analytics, preferably in healthcare Required
  • 3 years In leadership or management experience with data management, statistical analysis, and leading or supervising analytical or decision support teams. Required
  • Demonstrated experience designing, building, and implementing analytical tools, reporting systems, and decision support resources required. Required
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting data, performing benchmarking, identifying trends, conducting barrier analysis, and presenting analytic results required. Required
  • Demonstrated experience developing business cases, ROI analyses, and investment or pro forma modeling. Preferred
  • Experience integrating analytics with Finance, Strategy, and Operations teams to support enterprise planning and forecasting, as well as coordinating complex analytical projects that require cross‑functional collaboration and timely completion. Preferred

What you will do

  • Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making and educate leaders on using actionable data to improve operational efficiency, mitigate compliance risks, and strengthen performance.
  • Develop and implement analytical tools, performance metrics, statistical models, and reporting methodologies that support strategic and financial decision making across the organization.
  • Create standardized processes for enterprise data requests, ensuring consistency, transparency of assumptions, and adherence to data governance and reporting standards.
  • Lead the development, evaluation, and reporting of performance measures, benchmark comparisons, barrier analyses, and trend identification to support quality business outcomes.
  • Design, maintain, and optimize self service dashboards, reporting tools, and operational/financial analytics.
  • Interpret complex data sets and communicate insights using innovative and visually compelling formats appropriate for leadership audiences.
  • Lead Decision Support staff, ensuring high-quality service, accurate analysis, on-time deliverables, and compliance with confidentiality and security regulations.
  • Collaborate with Finance to define shared analytical methodologies, integrate financial/operational planning, enhance forecasting accuracy, and strengthen systemwide transparency.
  • Develop financial and pro forma models for clinical program investment, capital planning, scenario forecasting, technology acquisition, and provider resource allocation.
  • Partner with Strategic Planning for market data, with Revenue Cycle on payer strategies, and with operational leaders to support timely and aligned decision-making.
  • Support enterprise data governance efforts involving metric definition, financial/statistical data integrity, and consistent reporting across departments.
  • Identify, Develop and Maintain internal and external benchmarking sources and oversee quarterly and annual performance reporting.
  • Identify operational and strategic opportunities aligned with the organization’s mission and long-range plans; champion best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate complex analytical projects, ensuring accurate, timely execution and representation of all affected stakeholders.
  • Participate in organizational committees, councils, or task forces as required.
  • Support leaders with ad hoc reporting and specialized analysis.
  • Assist in enterprise system enhancements, process changes, and analytics modernization initiatives.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and integrity, provide exceptional internal service, and contribute to a positive team environment.


Travel Requirements

  • 5% Go between locations for various meetings and projects.
