DIRECTOR OF DIGITAL FORENSICS (SPECIAL AGENT)

The Office of Attorney General Tim Griffin is seeking to hire a qualified applicant to serve as a Director of Digital Forensics in the Special Investigations Division.

The Special Investigations Division (SID) protects the citizens of Arkansas by investigating various crimes including but not limited to: internet crimes against children, human trafficking, cybercrimes, public integrity, election integrity, cold case homicides and missing persons, organized retail crime, and fraud. Special Agents in SID investigate crimes, arrest suspects, and submit files for prosecution. The Director of Digital Forensics will report to the Deputy Chief of SID.

The Director of Digital Forensics: (1) serves as a credentialed special agent within the special investigations division, carrying a firearm and making arrests; (2) conducts digital forensic examinations of various digital devices to assist in criminal investigations; (3) maintains and updates forensic equipment such as: computers, servers, write blockers, licenses and software dongles, and evidence equipment within the digital forensics lab, as well as SID; (4) assists in the planning and execution of search warrants, and conduct digital forensic exams on scene; (5) works with prosecutors on criminal cases and testifies as a digital forensics expert in court; (6) assists local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies with digital forensic assistance; (7) participates in community speaking roles and various public outreach efforts.

All candidates must have knowledge and experience with criminal investigations and digital forensics. Candidates should have the skills to apply investigation methods, techniques, and procedures to develop evidence and compile information from records and analysis. Successful candidates will have the ability to prioritize, organize, interpret, and present complex information. Preferably, candidates will have high technical knowledge of both digital forensics and network maintenance to preserve the digital forensics lab. Candidates should have the ability to interpret and apply statutes, administrative rules and other authorities.

Preferred candidates will have high-level digital forensic certifications such as CFCE, CCPA/CCO, MCFE, OSFCE.
