Role Overview:
The Director of Employee Engagement champions initiatives that drive agency-wide employee engagement while creating strategies that are aligned with the agency’s core values, strategic direction, and positive culture. You will foster and enhance engagement and advance employee morale.
This role requires:

Ability to effectively partner with the BMV senior leadership team to ensure agreement with the culture, strategic direction, and agency focus on inspiring and supporting the workforce.
This position serves in the BMV Administration Office at the Indiana Government Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Salary:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $75,010.00 annually but may be commensurate with education and experience.

Responsibilities include:
- Measure and improve employee engagement, ensuring engagement initiatives are trending positively. Including but not limited to the annual Pulse Survey.
- Translate organization strategy into program goals, timelines, budgets, and measurable impact.
- Build and sustain strong line of business partnerships.
- Lead efforts to improve morale and cross departmental collaboration and create plans of action.
- Speak both ‘people’ and ‘product’ fluently.
- Lead the design, planning, and execution of new and current engagement programming that reflects evolving workforce needs and enhances BMV employee experience.
- Examples but not limited to State Employee Community Campaign, Employee Recognition Programming, BMV Engagement Committee, BMV agency awards, etc.
- Innovate and implement new BMV employee engagement events, both in-person and virtual.
- Manage budgets, vendors, logistics, and program evaluation for all engagement initiatives.
- Elevate branding and recognition of engagement programs and campaigns.
- Build strong relationships with community partners and other external stakeholders.
- Build a positive team culture that encourages communication, innovation and shared ownership of outcomes.
- Evaluate program effectiveness regularly and implement improvements informed by data and feedback.
- Provide timely updates and recommendations to inform decision making and resource allocation.
- Create a collaborative team culture where program staff feel supported, heard, and motivated.
- Facilitate opportunities for employees to be recognized determining frequency and method.

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours that may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
What You'll Need for Success:
Individuals in this role should minimally be able to articulate or demonstrate the following:
- Preferred 5 years in managing culture-related programs or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience designing and delivering innovative engagement solutions.
- Previous experience using data to measure employee engagement impact.
- Experience creating innovative and scalable engagement experiences.
- Excellent facilitation and communications skills across all levels.
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing cross-functional relationships and priorities.
- Proven strategic agility, ability to succeed in a fast-paced, continually evolving environment.
- Exceptional collaboration and influence skills at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
A degree is not required. However, at least four (4) years of experience applying the outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role may be considered.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
