Director of Engineering

Director of Engineering – Codex Corp. dba Guardian RFID (Maple Grove, MN). Lead, develop, and scale the engineering organization in alignment with the company’s strategic goals. Drive technical excellence, delivering high quality and timely product releases, fostering innovation, and building a high-performing team culture. Ensure that engineering initiatives support business objectives, meet customer needs, and adhere to industry best practices in architecture, security, and scalability. Requires Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related field plus 3 years demonstrated proficiency with Android SDK, Kotlin, and creating RestAPI endpoints, and 3 years’ experience in corrections or closely related field. Requires demonstrated proficiency with the following: setting and maintaining coding standards and deployment methodologies; MVVM architecture; coding in a team environment; agile/scrum methodology; iterative design; testing, bug fixing, and improving application performance; Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices; offline storage and performance tuning; multithreading using Kotlin Coroutines and background tasks parallel with the user interface; code versioning tools, including Git; standard source control practices; launching an application to customers; cloud infrastructure, including AWS, GCP, and Azure; modern software architectures, including microservices and serverless; translating business requirements into technical roadmaps; and full scope knowledge of corrections and the daily functional needs of the end product users.
