Job Description

DEW is seeking an experienced project manager to serve as the agency’s Director of Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) in Columbia. As a member of the agency’s senior leadership team, the Director of EPMO will manage the agency’s portfolio of enterprise-wide projects of all levels of complexity and risk using accepted project management principles through all phases of the project life cycle, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws as well as agency policies and initiatives. The selected applicant will have demonstrated experience in leading and managing complex projects that are strategic in nature. The EPMO Director will interact with all levels of management within the agency and experience working with cross-functional teams is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and direct the preparation of all project documentation and status reports.
  • Assist with the agency’s annual strategic planning process by planning the related meetings.
  • Coordinate the development and tracking of the strategic plan adopted by the agency’s management team.
  • Ensure agency projects are completed on budget, meet the appropriate quality targets, and deliver all items within the agreed upon scope.
  • Promote the use of project management methodology and policy throughout the agency.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

Education and Experience

A bachelor's degree and at least three (3) years of professional experience managing projects of significant complexity and risk.

Additional Requirements

Exceptional interpersonal, team building and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant industry certifications, such as PMP or PMI-ACP.
