Sault Tribe Incorporated (“STI Federal”) is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Director of Enterprise and Solutions Architecture to join our leadership team and shape the future of our enterprise technology environment!

What You’ll Do…

As the Director of Enterprise and Solutions Architecture at an early-stage company, you’ll lead the design and execution of STI Federal’s technology roadmap—establishing and managing an IT function of one that bridges strategy and implementation across all corporate operations. You’ll partner directly with executive leadership and functional leads to assess technology needs, modernize business systems, and implement scalable, secure, and efficient solutions. You’ll serve as both architect and integrator, ensuring technology investments advance our mission and enhance the performance of our teams nationwide.

Key Responsibilities & Expected Outcomes

  • Drive Enterprise Technology Strategy – Develop and execute an integrated IT roadmap that aligns with corporate goals, enhances system performance, optimizes Microsoft ecosystem utilization, and enables future scalability.
  • Advance Technology to Functional Needs – Partner with Business Development, Finance, Operations, and Talent Experience & Acquisition to understand priorities, identify technology gaps, and enable data-driven decision-making across functions.
  • Enhance Cybersecurity and Compliance Readiness – Optimize cybersecurity practices and controls to align with corporate goals and contractual requirements, while providing structured guidance and technical support to advance compliance with CMMC Level 2, CMMI Development Maturity Levels 3-5, and ISO/IEC 27001 readiness.
  • Strengthen Vendor and Security Oversight – Manage relationships with Managed Service Provider (MSP) for 24/7 helpdesk and cybersecurity support, and other technology vendors to ensure secure, cost-effective, and responsive IT operations.
  • Support Business Growth & Operations – Contribute technical expertise and solution architecture support to business development and proposal activities, including subject matter input and technical writing that strengthen STI Federal’s competitive positioning and ensure solutions meet client and contractual requirements.

  • Maintains deep expertise in the Microsoft ecosystem (Power Automate, SharePoint, Teams, Planner, Copilot, and related tools).
  • Demonstrated experience with Salesforce, Oracle, Microsoft and SAP. deployments and oversite of ML (machine learning) and AI (artificial intelligence) solutions.
  • Demonstrated success as an innovative technology leader for solutioning Government RFP responses-leader of technology discussions, technical subject matter expertise and strong technical leadership for architectural discussion and delivery.
  • Demonstrated success implementing automations, workflows, and integrations across Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Power Platform to streamline operations and improve collaboration.
  • Possesses excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into actionable technology initiatives.
  • Leads effectively without authority, building trust and influence across departments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible IT experience, including 3+ years in solution architecture, enterprise systems integration, or IT strategy roles.
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) with demonstrated verified knowledge, skills, and experience in managing and protecting an organization’s people, property, information, and assets from risks and threats
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Architect (MCSA) with demonstrated experience in multi-cloud AWS/Azure/Google/IBM and Hybrid multi-cloud environments, architecting and deployment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Information Systems, Business, or related discipline.
  • Experience working in small-to-midsize federal contracting environments, including Microsoft Government Community Cloud (GCC).
  • Experience supporting proposal development or technical solutioning in government contracting.

Compensation & Work Environment

  • Salary Range: $175,000 - $225,000, dependent on experience.
  • Environment: This is a remote position that may be based anywhere within the continental United States. Preference will be given to candidates located in or near the following metropolitan areas: Sault Ste Marie, MI; Washington, DC; Atlanta, GA; San Antonio, TX: Denver, CO: Tulsa, OK.
  • Travel: This position will require periodic travel (up to 15%) for key meetings, team collaboration, or industry events, including quarterly leadership sessions, conferences, and vendor visits.
