The Director of Facilities is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation, maintenance, and improvement of Sugar Mountain’s physical infrastructure. This role oversees all facility functions across commercial, retail, restaurant, and private properties, ensuring a high standard of safety, reliability, and service.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation and maintenance of all Sugar Mountain facilities.
- Develop, schedule, and enforce comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for all commercial properties.
- Perform and supervise maintenance and repair activities as needed.
- Lead and manage facilities staff responsible for maintaining food service equipment, plumbing, refrigeration, electrical systems, and other critical infrastructure.
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships, including sourcing, scheduling, supervision, and performance evaluation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and local, state, and federal codes.
- Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Communicate clearly and consistently regarding maintenance issues, solutions, and best practices.
- Develop and manage the facilities department budget, monitoring expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure the facilities team provides 24/7 on-call availability for maintenance emergencies.
- Develop and implement short- and long-term facility improvement plans, including upgrades, expansions, and capital projects aligned with organizational needs.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities or building operations management for commercial and/or retail properties.
- Proven ability to quickly assess building operation issues, identify effective resolutions, and communicate clearly.
- Strong creative problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Professional interaction and relationship management with vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications (“Nice to Haves”)
- Certifications in HVAC, refrigeration, or other relevant technical disciplines.
- Experience in commercial kitchens or food service environments.
- Background in CPG manufacturing.
- Experience managing a team.
- Familiarity with Zendesk or similar maintenance management systems.
Compensation & Benefits
The starting salary range for this position is between $105,000 - $130,000 per year, plus an annual bonus plan. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
