Role Overview
Owl’s Brew is hiring a Director of Finance & Accounting to lead the finance function end-to-end. This role combines ownership of accounting and financial operations with financial planning and business support.
This is a hands-on role with responsibility for both maintaining strong financial fundamentals and supporting day-to-day decision-making across the business.
Responsibilities
Business & Leadership Support
- Prepare financial reporting and materials for leadership and board
- Support investor reporting and diligence requests
- Partner with the leadership and cross-functional teams to provide clear financial insight and recommendations
- Support capital planning and broader financial strategy as the business scales
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Build and maintain financial models, including:
- Pricing and margin by product and channel
- Cash flow forecasting
- Scenario planning for growth initiatives
- Annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting
- Analyze performance against plan and identify key drivers and variances
- Support decision-making across pricing, channel strategy, and cost management
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Own the full accounting function, including general ledger, month-end close, and financial statements
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash flow
- Maintain internal controls and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting
- Oversee tax filings, regulatory compliance, and multi-state sales tax
- Manage external accounting and tax partners
- Maintain and improve financial systems, processes, and reporting infrastructure
Qualifications
- 6–12 years of experience in finance and/or accounting
- Experience in a consumer, CPG, or inventory-based business strongly preferred, particularly BevAlc experience
- Start-up or high-growth company experience
- Strong foundation in accounting (GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls)
- Experience building financial models and supporting business decision-making
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on role with broad ownership
- Clear communicator with the ability to translate financial data into practical insights
- Experience supporting board or investor reporting
- High EQ
Pay: $115,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
