Director of Finance and Human Resources

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Finance and Human Resources to lead our financial operations and human resources initiatives. This pivotal role combines oversight of comprehensive financial management with the development and execution of HR strategies that foster a thriving organizational culture. As a key member of the leadership team, you will drive fiscal responsibility, ensure regulatory compliance, and cultivate an environment that attracts, develops, and retains top talent. Your expertise will empower the organization to achieve its mission through sound financial practices and innovative HR solutions. Reports to CEO.

Work Schedule

Full-time, following the core hours established in Mission Lexington’s Hours of Work policy (generally 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday). Additional time may be required for meetings, events, or operational needs consistent with exempt status.

Responsibilities

Ensure accurate entry of checking account transactions into QuickBooks.

Maintain up-to-date account balances, including nonprofit (NP), non-restricted (NR), and budget accounts.

Perform donor data entry and ensure timely acknowledgment letters.

Enter and maintain donor and revenue information in donor databases.

Reconcile all accounts with a back-up reconciliation review performed by the President/CEO.

Pay client payables for Social Services.

Order office and departmental supplies as needed.

Organizational Support

Format and prepare monthly financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet) for board meetings.

Conduct new employee intake in coordination with Human Resources processes.

Serve as a resource to department leaders regarding financial questions, budget status, and compliance requirements.

Skills

  • Proficient in QuickBooks and computerized reporting systems.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting applications.
  • Strong planning, administrative, and organizational skills required.
  • Proficiency with advanced financial software systems for bookkeeping, general ledger reconciliation, account analysis, accounts payable/receivable processing—ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Ability to interpret financial reports and data to inform strategic decisions; adept at risk management and compliance oversight.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
