Director of Fiscal Operations

Human Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled and strategic Director of Fiscal Operations to lead the financial operations of our agency. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fiscal professional who wants to use their expertise to support meaningful community-based services and help guide the long-term financial health of a mission-driven organization.

The Director of Fiscal Operations serves as a key member of the agency’s structure and is responsible for directing fiscal functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and sound financial management practices. This position works closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, Policy Council, and senior leadership to provide accurate financial analysis, strengthen fiscal systems, support strategic planning, and ensure responsible stewardship of agency resources.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate the agency’s fiscal operations
  • Serve as a strategic financial partner in agency planning and program development
  • Prepare and provide timely, accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends
  • Advise leadership on long-range planning, regulatory changes, contracts, and financial impact
  • Strengthen fiscal policies, procedures, systems, and internal controls
  • Support department managers in understanding budgetary and financial issues
  • Develop reliable cash flow projections and reporting processes
  • Manage banking, deposits, and cash-position strategies
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and support to fiscal department staff
  • Help ensure agency resources are used effectively to support high-quality services for the community

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
  • 3–5 years of related fiscal, accounting, or financial management experience and/or training

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • CPA credential

Position Details

  • Classification: Exempt/Salary. Hours in excess of 40 hours per week may be required to successfully complete the essential functions of the job.
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday
  • Reports to: Executive Director
  • Work Setting: Clerical office environment
  • Travel: Occasional travel between agency centers; occasional out-of-state travel for conferences or training may be required

Pay: $80,000.00 per year
