Purpose:
The role involves assessing the eligibility of both domestic and international graduate applicants from diverse educational, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds seeking admission to AUC graduate programs. The responsibilities include monitoring application, acceptance, and enrollment trends, and recommending appropriate responses and remedial actions. The incumbent will manage, collect, and analyze graduate admission data to inform decision-making processes. They will develop, implement, evaluate, and update operational policies and procedures for admissions across various graduate programs, including master's, Ph.D., graduate diplomas, and non-degree courses. Additionally, the role entails planning and executing initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the graduate admission process. The position also involves supervising and guiding the staff within the Office of Graduate Admission to ensure reliable, timely customer service while fostering a collaborative work environment. Moreover, the incumbent will focus on the professional development of the team to maintain high standards of service and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
Admission Process:

Decides on eligibility of graduate applications

Responsible for the first stage of decision making in the graduate application process

Decides on the final admission outcome of the applications
-
Manages the multi-step, inter-office admission evaluation process
-
Ensures that graduate programs’ feedback is in line with the university graduate admission policies and procedures

Assesses Banner application and new services for graduate admission, identifies needs and recommends changes and updates to enhance the graduate admission process.
Data Management:
-
Provides the Dean of Graduate Studies and the Graduate Advisory Council with statistical evaluations and reports on graduate admission applications, acceptance and enrolment

Recommends course-of-action to the Dean of Graduate Studies and the Graduate Advisory Council for graduate admission-related issues

Approves updates and increments to Banner data records as a Banner data-owner

Manages comprehensive student records and database for all applicants including fellowship programs
Operations Management:

Manages the graduate admission cycle
-
Sets the admission cycle deadlines and ensures adherence to these deadlines
-
Ensures effective and timely customer service, response to queries and needs for clarifications
-
Approves accreditation documentation and validates GPA equivalencies and calculated values
-
Ensures proper operation of the database system including the learning of new functionalities and upgrades

Supervises the general graduate admission emails and ensures informative and timely responses
-
Manages and maintains effective communications with all other AUC offices, units, departments and programs

Ensures effective workflow coordination with other AUC offices, units, departments and programs
Staff Management:

Determines staffing needs

Determines staff responsibilities and coordination within the overall workflow process

Manages staff mentoring and the implementation of professional/personal development plans

Carries out staff performance evaluation
Other Responsibilities:

Serves on the Graduate Advisory Council

Serves on various relevant university committees
-
Manages and oversees other assignments and initiatives as determined by the Dean of Graduate Studies
Requirements:
Minimum Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Experience:
-
A minimum of 10 years’ work-related experience including seven years in an educational institute

Solid knowledge of graduate admission standards
