Job Requirements
We’re looking for a strategic, hands-on Director of Human Resources to assist in leading our HR operations, support a high-performing HR team, and partner closely with the Vice President of Human Resources to drive alignment, consistency, and exceptional service across our multi-state footprint. This role will travel periodically to stores, new markets, and acquisition sites to ensure strong HR support and culture integration.

Must be willing to drive to the Westminster, MA office once a week and travel to other states as needed for HR-related concerns and acquisitions.

Provide day-to-day leadership and coaching to HR Managers and Coordinators.

Ensure consistent delivery of HR services across regions and business units.

Partner with the VP of HR to translate strategy into operational plans and team priorities.

Oversee recruitment, onboarding, interviews, and the candidate experience.

Implement staffing models in collaboration with Store Leaders and Operations.

Maintain accurate, inclusive, and compliant job postings across all states.

Support career development, succession planning, and engagement initiatives.

Lead company-wide performance review cycles, calibration processes, and progressive discipline best practices.

Oversee the Phenom ATS and career site (content, workflows, job data, and chatbot).

Ensure job postings meet state-level posting requirements and pay transparency laws.

Monitor and respond to Glassdoor, Indeed, and employer brand reviews.

Partner with Marketing, Operations, and HR to strengthen employer brand messaging.

Track recruiting metrics and recommend improvements to drive hiring success.

Serve as a payroll process partner and backup to ensure timely, accurate payroll.

Support system configuration and data integrity within HRIS platforms.

Collaborate with Payroll and Finance to reconcile issues and improve controls.

Implement payroll audit processes and ensure compliance with multi-state wage & hour laws.

Complete regulatory reporting (EEO-1, state reporting, etc.).

Manage all labor law posting requirements through JJ Keller for all locations.

Provide daily support for benefit eligibility, escalations, and employee questions.

Partner with the VP of HR and Benefits Manager on renewals, audits, and communications.

Coach leaders and HR Managers on leave impacts, staffing coverage, and return-to-work planning.

Ensure consistent application of leave laws (FMLA, state PFML, personal leaves) across regions.

Collaborate with Safety and Operations to reinforce OSHA compliance and safety culture.

Support Workers’ Compensation reporting and follow-up for injury cases.

Participate in safety committees and training initiatives.

Serve as primary HR point person for Navex ethics/compliance reporting.

Conduct investigations, document findings, and track trends.

Provide tools and training for leaders on documentation, feedback, and corrective action.

Work Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources; Master’s degree (MBA) preferred.

Experience with multiple payroll systems and time/labor systems is a plus.

Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in strategic HR management.

Minimum of 3 years of successful supervisory experience.

Starting at $110,000-$120,000 - plus annual bonus
