Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a talented Director of Human Resources at the Hyatt Regency Villa Christina in Atlanta, GA.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The position’s primary responsibility is to provide related guidance, coaching, and support for all Department Managers and their staff members on the property daily.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for ensuring that all team member relations activities; training; employment processes; recruiting programs; insurance claims; and 401K retirement programs are following established procedures at the property level.
- Acts as liaison between the team members, managers, and the corporate office to effectively resolve benefit related problems and ensure successful utilization of plans and positive team member relations.
- Responsible for ensuring all Human Resource administrative procedures are done in accordance with state laws and regulations of the Internal Revenue Service and generally accepted accounting principle.
- Ensures that disciplinary actions are implemented in a fair and consistent manner; ensures that allegations of misconduct are appropriately handled.
- Oversees & assists with workers’ compensation liability.
- Oversees recruitment efforts with hiring manages, interviewing applicants, hiring managers and assists with the final decision process.
- Oversees the development & delivery of training programs to managers and staff that improve the protection of the assets.
- Must be able to communicate various HR policies, procedures, laws, standards and regulations; facilitate and provide training when needed; interview and assist in recruiting; conduct new hire orientations; and perform other related duties as assigned.
- This individual will also assist in overseeing the coordination of all performance reviews; I‐9 audits; team member file reviews; and ensure new programs are appropriately implemented as applicable.
- Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and 401k plan; personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and team member statistics for government reporting.
- Updates team member files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll and other uses.
- Act as a mentor/teacher of new programs for Management Staff and all staff members including any EEOC or NLRB updates as applicable.
- Assists team members and managers with all team member relation’s issues (serves as intermediary).
- Interprets hotel policies and benefit programs for managers and team members.
- Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and team member assistance.
- Plans and organizes team member‐related activities to promote a positive environment for all team members within assigned region. (i.e.: monthly lunches, annual parties, housekeeping team events, and team member of the month nominations, etc...)
- Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
- Oversees the coordinating of open enrollment/educational meetings relative to new/updated Health Care Insurance Plans.
- Assists in Management of Unemployment Hearings when called upon.
- Oversees related billing, payroll and the HR function to ensure accounting accuracy and integrity.
- Provides department financial guidance and HR counsel to all Department Managers within assigned region.
- Develops programs for improving productivity and staff effectiveness through financial functions and training.
- Assumes the timely flow of evaluated financial & HR related information.
