We have an exciting career opportunity for a Director of Technology to join our internal Information Technology team. This position requires working on-site a minimum of three days a week in our Hartford office and occasional travel to other offices (Hamden, CT and Holyoke, MA) as needed.

What you will be doing

• Oversee IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and firewalls, ensuring stability, security, and efficiency
• Manage the Firm’s cloud systems, servers, and network infrastructure, ensuring systems are up to date and compliant with firm protocols
• Lead internal IT projects, vendor quotes, and technology purchases while ensuring cost-effectiveness
• Direct and support the IT team, including staffing, scheduling, training, and mentorship to ensure excellent service delivery
• Serve as a technical escalation point and provide hands-on support when necessary
• Establish and maintain disaster recovery plans, testing backup procedures to ensure business continuity
• Create, update, and enforce IT policies, procedures, and technical documentation
• Deliver ongoing IT training to staff and ensure successful adoption of firm technologies

What you must have

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer services, network services, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 10 years of IT experience with strong network and server management background
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting day-to-day IT issues
• Proven leadership experience managing IT teams and developing talent
• Proficiency with:
  • Microsoft Windows (current versions)
  • Microsoft Active Directory
  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Network, database, and hardware/software architecture
• Strong understanding of IT best practices, compliance, and security protocols
• A valid driver’s license (or equivalent legal authorization to operate a vehicle)
• Access to reliable transportation to travel to various office and client locations as required
• Delivers after-hours emergency service by monitoring emails, ticketing system, and phone calls before and after business during busy season
