Director of Information Technology

We are a leading multinational company based in GCC. and we are looking for Director of IT to lead our IT team.

Location: Riyadh KSA

Reporting to: CEO (with close partnership with CFO/COO)

Direct reports: IT Operations, ERP/Odoo, DevOps, Software Engineering

Role summary

You will own the company’s technology stack end to end. Lead Odoo and related ERPs, build a disciplined SDLC, run cloud and DevOps, and raise the security bar. You will translate the company needs into reliable systems across Finance, Inventory/Warehouse, and POS, while growing a high-performing team. Experience with IPO-readiness in KSA is a strong plus.

Key responsibilities

ERP (Odoo)

* Lead Odoo strategy, roadmap, and delivery across Finance & Accounting, Inventory, Warehouse, and POS.

* Drive process design with Finance, Supply Chain, Retail, and E-commerce; remove manual work and enforce controls.

* Own integrations (e-commerce, payment gateways, logistics/3PL, loyalty, taxation/VAT).

* Manage upgrades, data migration, UAT, cutover, and post-go-live support with clear SLAs.

Software delivery & SDLC

* Run the full SDLC: backlog, architecture, coding standards, code review, QA, release management.

* Manage an in-house/partner engineering team; set goals, coach, and hire.

* Establish CI/CD and environment strategy (dev/test/stage/prod) with automated testing.

Cloud & infrastructure

* Architect, deploy, and operate workloads in the cloud; *AWS is a strong plus.

* Apply IaC (e.g., Terraform), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), monitoring, alerting, and backup/DR.

* Optimize cost, performance, and availability for retail peaks and store operations.

DevOps

* Own build/deploy pipelines (GitHub Actions/GitLab CI), artifact management, secrets, and rollback plans.

* Implement observability (logs, metrics, traces) and performance tuning for Odoo and APIs.

Information security

* Lead ISMS and risk management; define policies, access controls, incident response, and vendor security.

* Align to common frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001/NIST) and retail needs (POS hardening, PCI considerations).

* Run regular vulnerability management, audits, and security awareness.

Data, reporting, and controls

* Ensure ERP data quality, audit trails, and segregation of duties.

* Partner with Finance on close, reporting, and compliance; enable BI dashboards for operations.

People, budget, and vendors

* Own IT/ERP/Cloud budgets, forecasting, and license/vendor management.

* Negotiate contracts and manage partners to measurable outcomes.

Governance and IPO-readiness (KSA strong plus)

* Support documentation, IT controls, and audit readiness tied to listing requirements on the Saudi stock market (Tadawul).

* Mature change management, DR/BCP, and evidence-based IT governance.

Qualifications

* 10+ years in IT, including 5+ years leading teams and owning mission-critical systems.

* Odoo experience is a must with hands-on leadership across Finance & Accounting, Inventory, Warehouse, and POS.

* Experience with at least one other ERP (Dynamics 365, Oracle) is a strong plus.

* Proven SDLC leadership managing developers and shipping production systems.

* Cloud architecture and operations; AWS experience strongly preferred.

* Solid DevOps toolkit: CI/CD, Docker/K8s, IaC (Terraform), monitoring/logging.

* Information security leadership: policies, IAM, risk, incident management, and audits.

* Budget ownership, vendor management, and team building.

* Strong plus: led or supported tech workstreams for a company listed on KSA’s stock market (Tadawul).

* Retail domain exposure (POS, omnichannel, e-commerce integrations, VAT in GCC).

Education & certifications (nice to have)

* Bachelor’s in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.

* Odoo certifications; AWS Solutions Architect; ITIL/PMP/PMI-ACP; CISSP/CISM (or equivalents) are advantageous.

* English required; Arabic is a plus.

What success looks like in 12 months

* Stable Odoo core running clean finance closes, accurate inventory, and fast POS.

* CI/CD in place with automated testing and safe, frequent releases.

* Cloud costs optimized with clear dashboards and alerts.

* Documented security controls, tested DR plan, and clean audit outcomes.
