Overview:
The Director of IT PMO is responsible for the direction and leadership of operational, financial, programmatic
and personnel activities for the IT Project Management Office (PMO). This position will oversee the team to
ensure clinical, operational, and strategic programs and projects meet ARH organizational goals and strategic
priorities.
This leadership role develops and implements IT PMO processes and policies, oversees IT PMO project
managers and works with other departments leaders to define, prioritize and manage projects and programs.
The director plays a critical role in establishing ARH approach to the full project life cycle, including project
initiation, planning, resourcing, execution, monitoring, control and completion.
Special Instructions: Position located within or near service area. Responsibilities:
Establish the standard methodology, governance, templates, and tools necessary for ARH to project manage, oversee, organize, and help drive IT initiatives, measure Critical Success Factors, prepare presentations, action trackers, and reports as needed.
Manage the IT PMO Project Managers and Team Leaders to ensure compliance with IT PMO methodologies, governance, and templates
Work with other corporate leaders and business sponsors to place IT PMO project managers in IT related initiatives with the appropriate skillsets and experience.
Ensure effective communication and stakeholder engagement activities making use of communication resources and reporting/tracking systems
Develop accountability processes to ensure project managers and/or team leaders and their teams are executing on key IT PMO priorities
Conduct research and analysis of market trends
Ensure project align with strategic plan and desired outcomes
Develop presentation materials including charts, graphs, and data representations as needed
Provide ongoing analysis and delivery of projects to maximize use of resources including time, people and money
Monitor project costs to maximize use of resources
Works with leadership team on wide ranging scope and insight into all company-related matters
Prepare presentations and updates for internal audiences, such as leadership reports or presentations for company-wide meetings
Organize and prioritize critical issues and required information to facilitate efficient decision making
Collaborate across multiple functional areas to provide oversight and guidance on key projects
Create insightful analytics and actionable summaries
Coordinates the work of professional, technical, and other IT staff including project managers, application managers & analysts and support staff for a given project.
Is directly responsible for the day-to-day support & coordination of all IT PMO functions and processes and strives to maintain the appropriate documentation, escalation, and progress of IT PMO projects and evaluation.
Is the escalation point of contact and is responsible for identifying any changes in cost, resource needs or timelines.
Making sure the IT PMO provides project management support for IT projects for all ARH locations as defined by the IT PMO standards and project criteria. Ensures communication with project stakeholders is appropriate and timely. Tracks costs associated with projects and ensures projects are delivered on time and on budget.
Keeps current on new developments in project management and plans for future upgrades and organizational changes.
Identifies, prioritizes, and addresses risks to protect ARH information and information systems from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction.
Maintains confidentiality, integrity, and availability of ARH information.
Complies with applicable internal and external policies, standards, laws, and regulation related to ARH information.
Provides leadership, development planning, motivation, and mentoring of IT PMO staff.
Reviews performance of IT PMO staff on an annual basis.
Act as a primary escalation point for critical IT issues.
Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required or assigned.
Qualifications:

Education
Minimum
Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare, Technology, Business, Education, Project Management, or related field.
PMP Certification Required

Preferred
Master’s Degree in Healthcare, Technology, Business, Education, Project Management or related field.

Minimum Work Experience
Minimum
Eight (8) years of project experience
Three (3+) years of complex project management experience
Demonstrated success leading large-scale projects and project teams spanning a large and complex enterprise
Prior management experience Required
Demonstrated success with team leadership and development
Preferred
Ten (10) years of progressive project and management leadership experience including five (5) years with IT teams and projects, in a health system.
