Director of Learning Academic Mentor to the Family

Overview

We are a learning-oriented family in the Los Angeles area seeking an exceptional individual to serve as Director of Learning and Academic Mentor for our children.

This role focuses on supporting intellectual development, encouraging curiosity, and helping cultivate a thoughtful and stimulating learning environment at home. The ideal candidate enjoys mentoring bright young learners and guiding them toward independent thinking, strong intellectual habits, and a lifelong love of learning.

Responsibilities

• Support the children’s academic development and intellectual growth

• Encourage reading, inquiry, and independent thinking

• Help guide academic interests and interdisciplinary exploration

• Recommend or design enriching learning experiences and projects

• Help maintain a structured and intellectually engaging learning environment

Qualifications

• Degree from a top-tier university (Ivy League, Stanford, MIT, Caltech, etc. preferred)

• Strong academic background and broad intellectual curiosity

• Experience in education, mentorship, tutoring, or academic advising

• Excellent organizational and communication skills

• Professional, thoughtful, and highly discreet

Compensation

This position offers a highly competitive compensation package, commensurate with experience, and may include performance bonuses and long-term opportunities depending on qualifications.
