The Director of Marketing is a strategic leader responsible for shaping and executing the marketing vision at InCharge Debt Solutions. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role also provides strategic counsel to executive leadership—shaping brand positioning in the marketplace, elevating InCharge’s reputation as a thought leader in financial wellness, and ensuring marketing is fully integrated into organizational strategy. As the primary marketing point of contact, the Director leads a high-performing marketing team, setting direction, coaching for growth, and ensuring strong cross-functional collaboration. This role also manages relationships with third-party vendors and agencies to extend InCharge’s reach and capabilities. With a primary focus on digital marketing strategy, customer journey optimization, and campaign effectiveness, the Director ensures continuity of messaging and maximizes marketing initiatives to drive both conversion and client retention. This leader champions a data-driven, client-centric approach, aligning strategies with organizational goals, enhancing brand presence, and supporting sustainable growth. The Director integrates efforts across channels, partnerships, and platforms while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and alignment with InCharge’s core values of compassion, integrity, impact, community, and resourcefulness.
Strategy & Leadership
- Define and communicate a clear marketing vision and brand positioning that balances short-term business results with long-term reputation.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team on market trends, brand opportunities, and customer insights.
- Foster cross-department collaboration to integrate marketing into product innovation, client experience, and organizational storytelling.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive digital marketing strategy across paid, owned, and earned channels.
- Provide clear direction, set priorities, and establish accountability for the marketing team.
- Develop team members’ skills and careers through coaching, feedback, and growthopportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture that empowers creativity and innovation.
- Serve as the primary liaison with third-party marketing agencies and vendors, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to design and implement initiatives that drive revenue growth, client retention, and mission impact.
Digital Marketing & Brand
- Champion thought leadership initiatives and public-facing content to position InCharge as a trusted authority in financial literacy, debt solutions, and community impact.
- Shape and manage the organization’s external narrative to strengthen brand equity and build public trust.
- Oversee multi-channel marketing campaigns, including paid search, display, social media, email, and content marketing.
- Ensure consistent brand voice and messaging across all platforms and campaigns.
- Design and continuously optimize customer journeys to drive acquisition, conversion, retention, and long-term engagement.
Technology & Analytics
- Translate marketing and customer insights into strategic recommendations that shape business direction and inform organizational decision-making.
- Own and optimize the marketing technology stack, including CRM, marketing automation, analytics, and digital advertising platforms.
- Partner with IT and external vendors to integrate systems (CRM, CMS, contact center, analytics dashboards) and enable seamless reporting.
- Collaborate with analytics teams to implement advanced measurement approaches such as attribution modeling, A/B testing, and multi-touch tracking.
- Monitor emerging digital trends (e.g., AI in marketing, personalization engines, predictive analytics) and recommend innovations that enhance performance.
Compliance & Governance
- Oversee marketing data governance, including data quality, compliance with privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA), and ethical use of information.
- Drive adoption of marketing automation and personalization technologies to improve targeting, nurturing, and retention.
Budget & Resource Management
- Align marketing investments with organizational priorities to ensure resources drive measurable business outcomes.
- Present marketing strategies, investments, and ROI outcomes to executive leadership and the board as needed.
- Manage the marketing budget, contracts, and vendor relationships to maximize efficiency, effectiveness, and return on investment.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for growth.
- Required:
- Proven ability to elevate brand presence at the national level and position organizations as leaders in their category.
Preferred:
- Experience in nonprofit, financial services, or mission-driven organizations.
- Familiarity with workforce management and contact center technologies (e.g., Five9, NICE).
- Working knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance best practices.
- Proficiency with attribution modeling, personalization strategies, and A/B testing.
- Experience with AI-driven marketing tools (chatbots, personalization engines, predictive analytics).
- Track record of successfully implementing new marketing technologies and driving adoption across teams.
- Experience influencing at the executive and board level, with strong business acumen and ability to connect marketing outcomes to organizational strategy.
- 8+ years of progressive marketing experience.
- Proven experience building and leading a marketing team, including talent development, performance management, and succession planning.
- Expertise in digital marketing strategy across SEO/SEM, social, email, content, and paid media.
- Demonstrated ability to design and optimize customer journeys for acquisition, conversion, and retention.
- Hands-on experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Proficiency with marketing automation systems (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot).
- Strong knowledge of marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics 4, Looker, Tableau).
- Successful track record managing external vendors and agencies.
- Exceptional project management, organizational, and communication skills.
