How This Role Contributes to the Mission

As the Director of Marketing at RISE Modern Wellness, you are a key contributor to our mission of positively impacting communities. In this role, you drive awareness and access to our wellness services, helping people improve their lives. At the same time, you play a critical part in ensuring the success of each RISE location by equipping franchise partners with the marketing strategies, tools, and support they need to thrive. Your efforts not only fuel the growth and visibility of our brand, but also empower our locations to deliver exceptional results, creating a ripple effect that enables the entire RISE system to expand and positively influence more communities nationwide.

Your expertise in digital marketing, franchise marketing, and local lead generation is crucial for our growth strategy. By autonomously managing marketing KPIs and driving customer engagement, you play a vital role in expanding our reach and ensuring that our holistic wellness services positively influence individuals and communities throughout the United States.

Current Landscape

As we approach the end of 2025, RISE Modern Wellness has 10 open stores, with 20 additional units sold and strong growth plans for 2026. We are a rapidly emerging franchise brand operating in a dynamic and evolving market. To succeed, we need a marketing leader who has been on this journey before—someone who has taken brands through periods of rapid growth and successfully scaled them. The ideal candidate will confidently navigate the challenges and opportunities of expansion, adapt to change, and provide clear direction for our brand and franchise partners. Your experience guiding brands through similar stages will be essential in bringing vision, stability, and strategic leadership to RISE Modern Wellness during this pivotal time.

The Challenge

Over the last 18 months, we have operated as an internal agency for our franchise partners, providing all digital marketing services in-house. Our marketing performance around key metrics have been strong, but we recognize that true success goes beyond metrics alone. The next phase of our growth requires a leader who excels not only in strategy and execution, but also in building trust, fostering open dialogue, and collaborating with franchise partners.

We need someone who can unify our franchise network, create genuine excitement around marketing initiatives, and ensure franchisees feel supported and engaged—so that marketing is seen as a collaborative driver of success, not a point of frustration.

Your ability to cultivate relationships, communicate clearly, and secure buy-in will be just as important as your ability to deliver outstanding marketing results.

How You Solve This Challenge

We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Marketing with a proven track record in franchise marketing. You must have direct experience working with franchise brands and supporting franchisees.

You are an expert in digital marketing, but you also bring hands-on strategies from your previous, ideally brick-and-mortar, franchise-based career—especially in running successful grassroots campaigns, improving affiliate and referral systems, and optimizing lead nurture follow-up and ongoing drip campaigns.

You will be responsible for managing the relationship with our external marketing agency, which handles all tactical aspects of digital marketing—including graphic design, media buying, campaign launches, and more. You must have extensive experience managing direct relationships with external agencies, ensuring alignment with brand strategy, holding them accountable to KPIs, and optimizing agency performance.

You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that support the opening of new brick-and-mortar locations, driving in-person appointments, improving show rates, and generating local leads. Most importantly, you will serve as a leader and expert for our franchise partners—building rapport, establishing yourself as a trusted resource, and blazing a trail for others to follow.

What the Day-to-Day Looks Like

As the Director of Marketing, your daily activities will involve a dynamic blend of strategic planning, execution, and analysis. You will oversee all marketing initiatives, ensuring they align with our expansion goals and drive customer acquisition and retention. You will manage the relationship with our external marketing agency, providing strategic direction, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring all tactical execution aligns with our brand and business objectives.

If and when the organization grows to require additional internal marketing resources, you will be responsible for identifying, hiring, and developing marketing talent as needed. Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing digital marketing campaigns (in partnership with the external agency)
  • Coordinating local marketing efforts for new store openings
  • Running grassroots campaigns to build local brand awareness and engagement
  • Optimizing referral and affiliate marketing systems
  • Designing and improving lead nurture, follow-up, and ongoing drip campaigns
  • Leveraging marketing automation tools to streamline processes
  • Analyzing marketing performance metrics and adjusting strategies based on data insights
  • Collaborating with franchisees to support their local marketing needs
  • Managing the external agency relationship, including performance reviews, deliverable approvals, and budget oversight
  • Establishing yourself as a leader and expert for franchise partners, building strong relationships, and driving buy-in across the network Your ability to work autonomously and drive projects from inception to completion will be crucial in contributing to the seamless functioning and continual growth of our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies that align with business goals and drive growth
  • Oversee digital marketing campaigns, including SEO, PPC, social media, and email marketing (in partnership with the external agency)
  • Implement strategies to generate local leads and drive in-person appointments
  • Run grassroots campaigns and local marketing initiatives for new and existing locations
  • Create and manage effective referral and affiliate marketing systems
  • Design and optimize lead nurture, follow-up, and ongoing drip campaigns
  • Coordinate marketing efforts for new locations, including local content and event coordination
  • Own and manage marketing KPIs across the organization
  • Serve as a leader and expert for franchise partners, building rapport and driving buy-in
  • Cultivate strong relationships with franchisees, supporting their local marketing efforts and ensuring consistency and effectiveness across all locations
  • Manage the relationship with our external marketing agency, ensuring alignment, accountability, and high performance

Skills & Experience Needed

  • Franchise Marketing Experience (Required): Direct experience supporting franchisees and growing a franchise brand, ideally with brick-and-mortar locations
  • Digital Marketing Expertise: Deep knowledge of digital marketing channels, including SEO, PPC, social media, email marketing, GTM, and marketing automation
  • Grassroots & Local Marketing: Demonstrated success running grassroots campaigns and local marketing initiatives for franchise or multi-location businesses
  • Affiliate & Referral Systems: Skilled in creating and improving local affiliate and referral marketing systems to drive customer acquisition and retention
  • Lead Nurture & Drip Campaigns: Proven ability to design, implement, and optimize lead nurture follow-up and ongoing drip campaigns to maximize conversion and engagement
  • Proven Experience in Multi-Location Marketing: Experience in growing a business that has expanded to multiple service-based brick-and-mortar locations
  • Autonomous and Strategic Thinker: Ability to take full ownership of marketing KPIs across the organization with minimal guidance
  • Analytical and Results-Driven: Proficient in analyzing marketing data to measure effectiveness and optimize campaigns
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Excellent leadership skills to recruit, manage, and mentor a marketing team if needed. Strong collaboration skills to work with franchisees, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to build rapport, establish credibility, and drive buy-in with franchise partners
  • Independent Decision-Making and Problem-Solving: Track record of working independently, making decisions, and solving problems with minimal guidance
  • Prioritization and Time Management: Strong prioritization skills to manage varying project levels, complexities, and urgencies effectively
  • Agency Management Experience (Required): Extensive experience managing direct relationships with external marketing agencies, including setting expectations, reviewing deliverables, and holding agencies accountable for results

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10-15 years of experience in marketing, including extensive experience in digital marketing, multi-location marketing, and lead generation
  • 5-7 years in leadership roles, with a proven track record of managing and mentoring a marketing team and collaborating with franchisees
  • Demonstrated success in growing a franchise brand and supporting franchise partners
  • Experience in growing a business to at least 50 brick-and-mortar locations and increasing same-store sales by 20% year over year
  • Project management proficiency, including overseeing multiple projects concurrently

Base Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
