The Director of Marketing is a dynamic leadership opportunity to shape the brand, buzz, and guest experience across Bucky’s Casino and Yavapai Casino. This role is at the center of driving multi-site growth through innovative promotions, high-impact advertising, loyalty and player development strategies, and cutting-edge digital engagement. The Director will lead the creative and strategic direction for campaigns that attract new guests, strengthen retention, and elevate the entertainment and resort experience at both properties. Working closely with Operations, Food & Beverage, and Guest Services, this position brings big ideas to life while using guest insights and analytics to deliver measurable revenue results. From building brand presence to leading a talented marketing team and agency partners, this is a chance to make a lasting impact across two premier gaming destinations in Northern Arizona.
SCOPE OF WORK:
Responsible for managing, overseeing and driving all elements of Marketing. Will develop and implement strategies for brand vision, market growth, guest engagement strategies, enhancing guest experience, and ensuring strategic alignment with casino objectives and goals. Will develop marketing and promotions while collaborating with revenue generating departments to execute creative cooperative marketing programs. Will directly oversee promotions, player development, advertising, database marketing, players club and social media marketing to accomplish desired strategic and financial goals.
This position will adhere to the American Gaming Association (AGA) Voluntary Guidelines for Casino
Marketing and Advertising.
Will become familiar with the Tribal Gaming Code, Tribal/State Gaming Compact, National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) Regulations Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA), the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Title 31, and the Yavapai Gaming Commission (YGC) Departmental Internal Controls and Job Instructions.

- Will develop, establish, implement and monitor comprehensive marketing strategies and annual marketing plans aligned with business goals;
- Will create and monitor both short and long-range strategic plans to achieve resort objectives related to revenue, market share, and profitability;
- Will lead strategic brand development across all channels;
- Will forecast, develop and manage the department budget while maximizing profit opportunities and ensuring operations stay within fiscal guidelines;
- Will oversee guest engagement initiatives including players club system, database marketing, loyalty programs, and digital campaigns to drive acquisition, retention, and reactivation;
- Will direct and manage external relationships (advertising, digital, media buying, public relations and entertainment) to ensure alignment with brand standards and profit expectations;
- Will develop advertising and media strategies that integrate traditional, digital, and social platforms;
- Will lead creative development and production of marketing materials within approved budget;
- Will conduct market and guest data analysis across platforms and use insights to optimize campaigns and inform go-to-market strategies;
- Will coordinate cross-functional marketing efforts with operations, Food and Beverage (F&B), and guest service teams to support promotions, events, and overall casino messaging;
- Will mentor and develop marketing staff by creating individual growth plans, fostering engagement, and maintaining bench strength in key roles;
Director of Marketing
- Will monitor and evaluate the performance of all marketing campaigns, programs, and offerings, adjusting based on market response and business needs;
- Will supervise and schedule the assigned Marketing staff;
- Will understand and adhere to all Yavapai Gaming Agency (YGA) and Marketing Department standards, Policies, and Procedures;
- Will increase the market share and visitations of targeted guests, drive new target guest acquisition, group business and overall gaming revenue;
- Will monitor and evaluate all department activities and projects to ensure the successful execution and completion.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED;
- Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality;
- Must have a valid Arizona Driver’s License and be insurable under the Tribe’s insurance policy;
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and adhere to the Tribal/Gaming’s Drug and Alcohol
Free Workplace Policy during the course of employment;
- Must pass a background security check prior to and during the course of employment with the
Tribal/Gaming Agency in order to meet the Tribal/State Gaming Compact and/or Tribal Gaming Code;
- Must adhere to all Tribal/Gaming Agency Personnel Policies and Procedures;
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a strong orientation to excellent guest service;
- Must be self-reliant and capable of working independently as appropriate or necessary;
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related
field required or a minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Marketing Director in the gaming industry, will be accepted in place of the degree requirement;
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years of senior marketing leadership experience in the gaming industry required;
- Must have familiarity with casino database systems required;
- Must have experience in developing and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies, including database marketing, branding, and guest engagement programs;
- Must have experience managing marketing budgets, analytics, and long-term strategic planning;
- Must obtain all required licenses for employment including Tribal/State Gaming Licenses;
- Must be proficient with PC spreadsheet and database skills (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)
- Must maintain a professional appearance;
- Must have exceptional grammar, writing and proofreading skills;
- Must have attention to detail and superior time management skills;
- Must have broad understanding of marketing and advertising techniques;
- Must be creative with innovative, excellent problem solving skills;
- Must be highly organized and have ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities;
- Must be able to develop and analyze spreadsheet data;
- Must be knowledgeable of Gaming laws and regulations;
- Must be able to lift and periodically carry up to 25 lbs.;
- Must be able to work flexible hours;
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
