Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College is seeking an experienced marketer to lead the Marketing & Communications function of our web/digital marketing team. The primary responsibility of this position includes leading the development, implementation and management of integrated digital marketing, social media and communications strategy, aligning them with business priorities across the college and university to drive awareness, engagement and enrollment. Not only is this a strategist position, but the successful candidate should also be capable of envisioning, leading and implementing strategies and tactics from concept to execution. Apart from being strategic in their approach, the ideal candidate should have advanced technical knowledge and have hands on experience in large web development projects.
Core responsibilities include:
- All communications through digital channels—including the college’s homepage and key landing pages
- Leading the development, execution, and the assessment of innovative, results-oriented digital marketing and social media campaigns in support of the college’s overall strategic goals.
- Establishes priorities and develops project plans and schedules; revises priorities and plans as appropriate; creates project teams and delegates appropriate responsibilities to maximize departmental effectiveness.
- Supervises team progress and holds team accountable towards fulfillment of goals.

- A seasoned marketer with experience leveraging audience and market insights to develop marketing strategies and plans that are aligned with identified goals

- A channel-savvy marketer with experience maximizing audience reach and engagement using modern, multichannel and integrated approaches
- A collaborator with experience building strong partnerships with groups of internal constituents to achieve shared goals, including the ability to advance the strategic nature of the conversation about marketing initiatives
- A strategic integrator who both sparks and brings together ideas, individuals and plans to advance efficacy and efficiency of marketing efforts across the university
- A confident communicator with excellent active listening, writing and presentation skills and experience working directly with senior leadership
- A proactive, self-starter who is able to progress multiple priorities and projects simultaneously through direct engagement or the leadership of others (indirect and direct)

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 8 years of marketing and communication experience.
- Leadership experience – prior experience providing guidance, leadership, and coaching marketing staff
- Preferred licenses/certifications: Google Analytics Individual Qualification certification
- A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

- Work Posture: This position is operating on a hybrid schedule, with an on-campus/in-office presence 3 days a week.
