About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental, Luxor within the Marketing Department, the Director of Marketing & Communications is responsible for strategically planning, developing, implementing, and managing the resort’s annual marketing and communications initiatives.

The role oversees all aspects of the marketing and communications strategy, including media relations, digital marketing, consumer relationship management, social media, advertising, partnerships, brand identity and governance, ensuring fully integrated campaigns are delivered in alignment with the resort’s commercial objectives.

The Director of Marketing & Communications reports to the Director of Commercial Strategy.

As Director of Marketing & Communications, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing comprehensive marketing and communications strategies to support the resort’s positioning and business objectives
  • Leading and managing all marketing disciplines, including digital, social media, CRM, content, brand management, and advertising
  • Driving integrated campaigns in collaboration with Sales, Revenue, and Operations teams to support demand generation and revenue growth
  • Managing media relations, PR initiatives, and strategic partnerships to enhance brand visibility and reputation
  • Overseeing the marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and measurement of return on investment
  • Leveraging market insights, competitive analysis, and guest data to refine strategies and enhance engagement
  • Ensuring brand consistency across all channels and touchpoints in line with Mandarin Oriental standards
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing the Marketing & Communications team
  • Staying informed of industry trends, emerging platforms, and innovations to continuously evolve the resort’s marketing approach
  • Managing reputational risks and supporting crisis communications where required

As Director of Marketing & Communications, we expect from you:

  • 7–10 years of progressive Marketing & Communications leadership experience, ideally within luxury hospitality or lifestyle brands, at property or cluster level
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns within the luxury segment
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, CRM systems, and data-led decision making
  • Experience working with global brands, ensuring consistency across all communication channels
  • Strong leadership capability, with experience managing and developing high-performing teams
  • Sound commercial awareness, with the ability to align marketing initiatives to business outcomes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • High level of organisation, attention to detail, and ability to operate in a dynamic environment
  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field; advanced qualifications are advantageous
  • Fluency in English is required; Arabic is preferred. Additional languages are an advantage
