The Director of Media is Booyah’s most senior subject matter expert across display, video, audio, and paid social channels. This leader plays a dual role: a hands-on, client facing strategist and problem solver (50%), and the agency’s primary architect of Booyah’s paid social practice (50%). This role is designed for someone who is equally comfortable building a POV for a CEO, jumping into platform execution during a critical moment, and shaping the long-term direction of our paid social discipline. The Director of Media is not a back-office resource. They are a frontline leader who drives performance, raises the bar on execution, cultivates relationships with key social platforms, sets the vision for how Booyah activates across paid social landscape, and publicly shares Booyah’s Paid Social POV.
Areas of Responsibilities:
Client-Side: Paid Social & Media

Flexibility and appreciation for getting deployed to the hottest client fires on an as needed basis
- Serves as a strategic partner for clients, driving paid social and media recommendations rooted in data, audience insights, and platform best practices

Provides senior-level leadership in client meetings, translating complex media concepts into clear, actionable guidance

Identifies cross-channel opportunities—collaborating with paid search, programmatic, analytics, and creative teams to deliver integrated solutions

Anticipates client needs and proactively surfaces optimizations, risks, and growth opportunities

Helps shape long-term client roadmaps by contributing to quarterly/annual planning cycles and forecasting discussions

Integrates with account teams as needed to support the rollout of new initiatives, POV development, or troubleshooting

Participates in business development requests, including account audits, story development, and pitching
Paid Social Channel Leadership

Owns the agency relationship and regular communication with social platform agency reps to support business development, planning, testing initiatives, agency support, and platform/product feedback. Maintains and strengthens Booyah’s agency status with all key social platform partners, ensuring requirements are met and opportunities are maximized.

Manage key departmental project initiatives that have a strategic and organizational-wide impact, which includes piloting new test programs and rolling out successful pilot programs to the broader paid social teams

Prioritizes social platforms, betas, and cross-platform initiatives based on Booyah’s business goals, client fit, and anticipated impact.

Makes informed, reasonable decisions about where Booyah can drive meaningful results, ensuring resources are allocated to the highest-value opportunities.

Acts as a trusted partner to platform reps by providing thoughtful, actionable feedback on product features, performance trends, and advertiser needs.

Work closely with the VP of Media, Account Directors, Channel Directors, Creative and Analytics departments to ensure that processes are developed, implemented, communicated, and consistently followed

Lead with research via Resonate, Pathmatics, etc. when driving internal and client discussions
Paid Social Agency Support

Support account teams by providing general troubleshooting support, both strategic and technical
- Oversees agency process to ensure execution, optimization, and best practices are followed across teams; identifies & develops new workflow processes as needed to ensure maximum team efficiency
- Collaborate with Account Directors to identify team/client trends and prioritize new initiatives or projects that will support the evolving needs of the agency
- Work closely with VP of Media to ensure agency stays up-to-date on industry challenges related to the use of data, including, but not limited to consent mode, iOS14, GDPR, CCPA, and future privacy law

Facilitate paid social roundtable meetings with the agency, compiling presentation slides and guiding the conversation across all account teams

Promote Booyah thought leadership by writing and/or facilitating case studies and blog posts, distributing POVs, participating in external speaking engagements such as webinars or panels, etc.

Support hiring efforts by leading technical phone screens with Manager, Strategist, and Supervisor candidates

Assist Account Directors in crafting quarterly goals for Managers, Strategists, and Supervisors
- 5-7 years of client-facing digital media planning experience at an advertising agency, specializing in display, video, audio, and paid social
- Strong ability to motivate, mentor, and train a team of subject matter experts
- Hands on experience working within self-serve paid social platforms, including Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), Reddit, Nextdoor, and/or Snapchat
- Expert in Meta, including trafficking, pixel, advanced match, conversions API, catalogs, and aggregated event measurement implementation requirements, testing, and reporting
- Expert in Campaign Manager 360, including trafficking, ad tag and Floodlight tag implementation requirements, and reporting
- Hands-on experience working within Google Ads
- Must have experience managing prospecting campaigns
- Strong knowledge of managing branding campaigns
- Detail-oriented and have excellent self-sufficient problem-solving skills
- Experience recommending attribution models, lookback windows, and the nuances of attribution between media platforms, as well as client analytic platforms (e.g. Adobe, Google Analytics 4)
- Strong knowledge of programmatic capabilities and implementation requirements related to self-serve digital video/CTV, digital audio, and display, across open exchange buying and programmatic guarantees
- Highly experienced in media planning, negotiation, execution, and optimization best practices across a variety of digital media types with managed service media partners with strong knowledge of associated creative types
- Vast network of media partner relationships across all aforementioned channels
- Must have eCommerce or related planning and execution experience
- Strong knowledge of how to plan across an array of verticals in both the B2B and B2C space
- Experience working cross functionally with various teams and influencing the direction of media plans that would be managed by other resources
- Ability to communicate complex concepts and processes effectively and/or previous training experience
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint. Can develop PowerPoint presentations independently via use of storytelling
- Excellent presentation skills with both colleagues and clients; experience presenting on bi-weekly performance calls, QBRs and pitches
- Strong and highly proactive communications skills

Salary: $90,000 to $110,000 plus bonus
Wage differential is based on seniority, merit, education, training, and experience.
