Director of National Accounts, West Coast

Position Summary:

The Director of National Accounts drives convention and meeting business for Nashville within an assigned region. This role focuses on growing market share, generating qualified leads, strengthening client relationships, and partnering with Nashville’s hospitality community to secure citywide and large-scale events.

Success in this role requires strategic sales leadership, deep industry relationships, and consistent regional travel.

This position plays a critical part in expanding Nashville’s national presence and securing business that benefits hotels, convention facilities, restaurants, and attractions across the city.


What You’ll Do

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Drive New Business

  • Identify, target, and qualify new convention and meeting prospects
  • Conduct sales calls, appointments, and regional sales trips
  • Represent Nashville at trade shows, industry meetings, and client events
  • Host site visits for prospective clients
  • Lead efforts within local hospitality community to secure citywide and single-property groups (1,000+ peak rooms)

Build & Maintain Relationships

  • Develop long-term partnerships with meeting planners and association leaders
  • Collaborate with hotels, convention facilities, and local partners to align strategy
  • Conduct regular meetings with key hospitality stakeholders
  • Engage in relevant industry organizations to expand market presence

Execute with Strategy

  • Meet or exceed assigned revenue and production goals
  • Maintain accurate account records and pipeline tracking
  • Contribute to team and organizational sales strategy
  • Strengthen brand presence and market penetration within the assigned region


What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in convention sales, CVB sales, major hotel sales, or related hospitality roles
  • Proven track record of generating and closing large-group business
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and think strategically
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively


Work Environment

  • Frequent regional and overnight travel
  • Evening and weekend commitments as business needs require
  • Primarily office-based with regular driving and client-facing activity
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and conduct site tours
