Director of Network and Security Engineering and Operations

The Queens County District Attorney's Office (QDA) is seeking a Director of Network and Security Engineering and Operations, who will report to the Chief Information Officer (CIO).

The Director of Network and Security Engineering and Operations will perform the following job functions, including, but not limited to:

• Manage and mentor network and security staff.
• Design, deploy and support the growing enterprise environment.
• Lead projects involving LAN/WAN, datacenter, cybersecurity, telecommunications.
• Work with other network architects to vet designs prior to implementation.
• Create technical documentation including network diagrams.
• Work with vendors, carriers and other technical groups to implement new designs and optimize the network.
• Design wireless environment including controllers and AP.
• Transfer knowledge of network design to other members of the IT team.
• Ensure the network is both secure and resilient.
• Troubleshoot Level 3 network support issues.
• Analyze the network and implement solutions to increase uptime efficiency and security.

Preferred Education and Qualification Requirements:
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics or related field and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or

2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and ten years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or,

3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or “2” above.

Must have excellent communication skills and experience in handling confidential information. Strong cybersecurity engineering and operational background, as well as strong knowledge of load balancing technologies.

For current New York City employees, a permanent computer-related civil service title is preferred but not required.

Application Information:
Salary Range: $160,000 - $170,000 (Commensurate with experience)
