Director of Nursing

Overview
We are seeking a new part-time Director of Nursing (DON) for our office in Maryland. The ideal candidate will have worked for several years as a DON for a skilled home care agency. This role is crucial in ensuring that our agency runs smoothly, meets Joint Commission standards for a home care agency, and provides high-quality patient care. The DON will work closely with medical staff, administrative personnel, and patients to create an effective home care organization.

Candidates with previous experience as a DON in home care are preferred. However, if you are an RN with experience in home care, who has 80% of the knowledge required, we can train you to be a DON.

Duties

• Manage the daily operations of the clinic, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
• Oversee staff management, including hiring, training, orientation, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
• Perform initial assessments of new patients, and perform follow-ups as needed.
• Some travel within Montgomery County is involved in order to visit patients.
• Implement policies and procedures that enhance operational efficiency and improve patient care.
• Ensure the clinic meets Joint Commission Accreditation for home care standards.
• Collaborate with medical professionals to coordinate patient care and improve service delivery.
• Address patient concerns and feedback to enhance satisfaction and quality of service.
• Help maintain accurate records and reports related to clinic operations, staffing, and patient care.

Experience

• Proven experience in home care management.
• Strong knowledge of Joint Commission standards for home care is necessary.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively.
• Exceptional communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions that benefit agency operations.

Qualifications

• Required: Registered Nurse in Maryland or a compact state.
• Preferred: Licensed Nurse Practitioner.
• Preferred: Experience as a DON in a home care environment, but we will consider candidates with less experience, and we offer training.
• Must live within a 1-hour drive of downtown Silver Spring, MD.

Bonus

For the right candidate we offer a $10k signing bonus, payable after we receive accreditation.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $40.00 - $55.00 per hour
