American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital, with scrub experience strongly preferred and on-call requirements.

Work setting is a busy, Magnet-designated, Level I academic trauma center Main OR with 21 suites covering all surgical specialties including Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics

RNs are trained to both scrub and circulate surgical procedures

Nursing team is composed of approximately 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists

Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
-
On-call required: up to 4 call shifts every 4 weeks
-
Weekend requirement: up to one working weekend shift every 4 weeks

Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities is required

Charting is done in Epic
-
Scrubs are provided by the facility

Active SC RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered

Current AHA certifications required: BLS

Radiation badge required (provided by agency)

Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience strongly preferred

Level I trauma center experience required

Scrub experience strongly preferred

SSN and Driver's License required for consideration

Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

First-time travelers are accepted depending on the position

Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler

Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are accepted on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized

All RTO must be submitted upfront and is subject to approval based on facility needs

Travelers are required to work at least one holiday period (Christmas: Dec 24–26 or New Year's: Dec 31–Jan 1)

Online orientation modules are completed prior to the start of the assignment
-
During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity occurs in August and September
-
Holiday coverage is required for at least one designated holiday period
