Your Role

MIRA Safety is seeking a results-driven, hands-on Director of Operations to join our leadership team. In this role, you will oversee and optimize the daily operations of the company, ensuring seamless execution of strategic initiatives, operational excellence, and cross-functional alignment. This position requires a tactical leader with strong business acumen who can scale operations, improve internal processes, and drive efficiency across all departments. You will work closely with the CEO and senior leaders to support MIRA Safety’s continued growth in the tactical and CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear) equipment industry.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Partner with the CEO to refine and execute the company’s long-term vision, mission, and strategic goals.
  • Oversee all core operational functions, including supply chain, logistics, compliance, customer service and IT.
  • Build scalable systems and processes that support growth, team development, and operational excellence.
  • Establish and oversee a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) for the assembly line, ensuring compliance with NIOSH (and OSHA where applicable), implementing clear inspection processes for incoming parts, and delivering consistent, trackable quality outputs for finished products.
  • Work closely with HR to drive talent acquisition, retention, compliance, and employee engagement initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational success, productivity, and profitability.
  • Identify and implement strategic growth opportunities and process improvements across all departments.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements, focusing on risk mitigation and quality assurance.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing cross-functional team to support company-wide collaboration and accountability.
  • Promote and safeguard MIRA Safety’s brand, values, and reputation through ethical leadership and disciplined execution.


What We’re Looking For:

Education & Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 8–12+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, supply chain, manufacturing, or quality management.
  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling operational systems and cross-functional teams.


Technical & Compliance Knowledge


  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and compliance standards (NIOSH, OSHA, ISO 9001 preferred).
  • Proven ability to establish inspection, testing, and traceability processes in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and legal frameworks governing workplace safety, product compliance, and risk management.


Operational Expertise

  • Hands-on experience managing supply chain, logistics, and customer service functions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled at implementing process improvements, automation, and efficiency initiatives across multiple departments.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.


Leadership & Strategic Skills


  • Track record of partnering with executive leadership to define and execute strategic goals.
  • Excellent people leadership skills; able to mentor, coach, and build high-performing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and change management capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the CBRN, tactical gear, defense, or security industries is a plus.
  • Background in manufacturing and/or marketing operations strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).
  • Passion for preparedness, tactical innovation, and mission-driven work.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
