Location: Boulder & Arvada, Colorado (hybrid; travel between offices required)

Help Lead a Growing Mental Health Practice

Assessing Alternatives Counseling (AAC) is a growing and mission-driven mental health group practice serving individuals, families, and specialized populations across Colorado. We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and proactive Director of Operations / Practice Manager to help lead day-to-day operations, strengthen systems, support our clinical team, and grow with the company.

Position Details

  • 30 hours per week
  • $40/hour starting pay
  • Hybrid schedule
  • Weekly presence in:
  • Boulder office (1–2 days)
  • Arvada office (1–2 days)

Additional Income Opportunity

For candidates who hold appropriate Colorado licensure and are qualified to provide clinical supervision to pre-licensed clinicians (such as LSWs or LPCCs), there may be additional compensated income opportunities through supervision responsibilities, depending on credentials, availability, and practice needs.

Required QualificationsMust Have:

  • Master’s degree required (Healthcare Administration, Business, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or related field preferred)
  • Prior healthcare or mental healthcare management/operations experience required
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Professional presence with high accountability standards

Strongly Preferred:

  • Experience in behavioral health / therapy practice operations
  • Experience with insurance billing workflows and payer systems
  • Familiarity with Medicaid processes
  • Familiarity with SimplePractice or similar EHR platforms
  • Colorado clinical licensure and ability to supervise LSWs, LPCCs, or other pre-licensed clinicians

What You’ll Do
Operations Leadership

  • Oversee daily operations across multiple offices
  • Ensure systems, workflows, communication, and logistics run smoothly
  • Improve efficiency and solve operational challenges proactively
  • Build scalable systems for continued growth

Team Management

  • Supervise administrative support staff
  • Support onboarding of clinicians and interns
  • Maintain accountability, professionalism, and positive culture

Billing & Financial Oversight

  • Liaison with billing team to ensure claims and collections remain on track
  • Monitor no-shows, outstanding claims, and operational KPIs
  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements

Practice Growth Support

  • Assist ownership with hiring, onboarding, and expansion efforts
  • Support implementation of strategic initiatives
  • Help leadership make informed operational decisions

Compliance & Industry Awareness

  • Stay informed on insurance and Medicaid changes
  • Support regulatory and operational best practices

Optional Supervision Opportunities

  • Provide clinical supervision to eligible pre-licensed clinicians if appropriately licensed and interested
  • Support development of intern and associate clinician programs
