This role is conducted within the vision, mission, and strategic plan of the Insurance Authority. Charged with translating corporate strategy into a coherent global collaboration agenda, the Director of Partnerships & International Affairs shapes and governs high-impact alliances that accelerate sectoral advancement and national Vision 2030 goals. The role includes performing relevant duties to support the implementation of the National Insurance Strategy (NIS). Reporting to the Deputy CEO, this role will architect and steward a diversified portfolio of domestic and cross-border partnerships, ensuring rigorous governance, measurable value creation, and risk mitigation. The incumbent galvanizes multi-disciplinary teams and executive stakeholders to secure knowledge transfer, policy alignment, and sustained investment inflows. Through authoritative external representation, the Director amplifies the Authority’s influence in international forums and safeguards its interests amid evolving geopolitical dynamics.
Responsibilities and Tasks

Direct the end-to-end lifecycle of domestic and cross-border partnership initiatives, from opportunity scanning through to MoU execution and renewal, ensuring every alliance is aligned with the Authority’s strategic roadmap.

Develop and continuously refine a partnership segmentation model that priorities relationships according to strategic value, risk exposure, and contribution to sector KPIs. Coordinate with Strategy & Sector Development colleagues to embed quantified partnership outcomes into annual business plans and corporate performance dashboards.

Design and oversee the Authority’s international-engagement strategy, positioning the organization as a trusted counterpart for regulators and peer agencies worldwide.

Lead bilateral working groups, joint committees, and official visits, ensuring protocol compliance and the effective exchange of technical know-how and policy insights.

Monitor global policy trends and geopolitical developments, advising executive leadership on emerging opportunities and risks to international collaboration.

Own the governance framework for partnership approval, due-diligence, and compliance, obtaining timely sign-off from Legal, Finance, and Risk functions.

Establish mechanisms to track partnership performance, produce Board-ready reports, and recommend corrective actions when delivery falls below agreed thresholds.

Manage the full Partnerships & International Affairs budget, workforce plan, and operating model, optimizing resources to deliver agreed annual targets.

Coach and develop a multi-disciplinary team of Consultants, Experts, and Specialists, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.

Champion knowledge-management practices that capture lessons learned and disseminate partnership success stories across the Authority.

Represent the Authority in high-level forums, conferences, and multilateral negotiations, articulating the organization’s vision and securing stakeholder commitment.

Maintain executive-level relationships with peer agencies and strategic partners, serving as the primary escalation point for complex partnership matters.

Oversee departmental strategic planning, budgeting, staffing, and workforce management to ensure cohesive and efficient Partnerships & International Affairs operations aligned with IA’s strategic framework.

Educational Qualifications (required)

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, Insurance, Strategic Management, or related field

Master’s degree preferred

10+ years with bachelor’s degree, 8+ years with Master’s degree, 6+ years with PhD

Position relevant experience is required.
