Director of Postpartum (Mother Baby)

Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Director of Postpartum (Mother Baby) for a full-time, permanent leadership opportunity in Austin, Texas.

The Mother Baby Director ensures high-quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall function and staffing of the Postpartum and Lactation units. This leader is responsible for operational performance, forecasting, planning, and budget monitoring while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and clinical excellence. The Director supports the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with facility objectives and growth initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

• Cultivate a superior clinical identity by identifying and implementing evidence-based practices to advance patient safety and quality outcomes
• Ensure adherence to standards of care and regulatory requirements
• Manage variation in clinical practice to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost
• Foster a culture of accountability and transparency in the provision of care
• Stay current on internal and external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations and actively pursue achievement efforts
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory standards; develop and implement compliant policies and procedures
• Ensure efficient patient throughput and delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care through volume forecasting, patient flow coordination, and admission/discharge planning

Department Overview:

• Oversight of Postpartum and Lactation services
• 97-bed combined oversight
• 241 FTEs across Postpartum and Lactation
• Supported by two Postpartum Managers, with a third manager being added due to continued growth

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base Salary: Up to $150,000
• Leadership Incentive Bonus Eligibility
• Relocation Assistance: Eligible if required

Requirements:

Education & Licensure:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) required

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience within Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, or Mother Baby units
• Must have L&D or Postpartum experience with leadership at Supervisor level or higher
