Job Summary
First United Methodist Preschool (FUMPS) in Stuart, FL. has an opening for a qualified Preschool Director. We are seeking a strong leader who has a deep commitment to Jesus Christ and a desire to live that faith through service to the Preschool. The ideal candidate will embrace a Conscious Discipline approach to encouraging a community of learners, involved staff, and supportive parents. Candidates should have a strong organizational and communication skills needed to direct and manage the day-to-day challenges at the Preschool and move it into the future, including potential growth. This is a year-round position, including a summer session.

Duties

  • Provide strategic planning to develop innovative preschool programs that meet educational standards and community needs
  • Manage daily operations, including staff supervision, curriculum implementation, and student enrollment processes
  • Oversee budgeting activities to ensure financial sustainability while maintaining high-quality educational services
  • Lead recruitment, training, and professional development initiatives for teaching staff and administrative personnel
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes child development, safety, and family engagement
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and accreditation requirements
  • Develop policies and procedures that support operational excellence and continuous improvement in preschool services

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in education administration, particularly within early childhood or preschool settings
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and inspire excellence
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with staff, families, community stakeholders, and regulatory agencies
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments that support diverse learners
  • Florida Staff Credential and Director Credential
