SUMMARY:

The Program Director provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all Path2Freedom programs and services. This role ensures that every program is trauma-informed, compliant with Department of Children and Families (DCF) regulations, and aligned with the organization’s mission and vision. The Program Director manages staff, oversees budgets, ensures adherence to licensing and relicensing standards, and leads initiatives to strengthen program quality, sustainability, and community impact. Collaborating closely with the President & Founder, this position plays a key role in advancing organizational goals, developing partnerships, and promoting excellence across all program operations.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans, coordinates, and oversees all program operations and activities to ensure alignment with Path2Freedom’s mission and goals.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors program policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure quality, compliance, and consistency.
  • Maintains oversight of program timelines and deliverables, ensuring all initiatives remain on schedule, within budget, and operate efficiently.
  • Leads and coordinates program communications, ensuring effective information flow among staff, stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Oversee the management of staff work assignments, workloads, and schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and accountability across all programs.
  • Participates in licensing and relicensing procedures in collaboration with the Case Coordinator team and Program Admin.
  • Works closely with administrative and clinical staff to ensure all program operations meet DCF, safety, and quality-of-care standards.
  • Supports program growth and development through strategic planning, community partnerships, and staff collaboration.
  • Collaborates with the Development team on fundraising and community outreach initiatives.
  • Administers program budgets, including oversight of expenditures, billing, payments, and financial reporting.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with staff, clients, volunteers, community partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinates and facilitates program-related meetings, training, and events.
  • Fosters collaboration and positive communication between the program team, other departments, leadership, and external partners.
  • Partners with the Communications team to support marketing, public relations, and social media activities related to program initiatives.
  • Provides regular program updates and outcome reports to the President & Founder and Board as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly supervises approximately 12–14 employees within the Program Department, including Program Manager, House Mentors, Case Management staff and School Headmaster.
  • Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Requires:

  • Master’s Degree (Social Work or related) & 2 years of experience in Social Services, or ...
  • Bachelor's Degree & 4 years of experience in childcare
  • One to two years of related program management experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Hands-on experience in budgeting, bookkeeping, and reporting preferred.
  • Knowledge of program management, compliance, and development procedures.


Computer and Technical Skills:

  • Development and Contract Management Systems
  • Publisher Software

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Physical Demands:

  • Frequently required to sit; occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • Frequently required to talk and listen.
  • Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle or operate office equipment such as computers, phones, and filing systems.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds (e.g., files, supplies, or equipment).
  • Work Environment:
  • This position primarily functions in a hybrid work environment, requiring reliable internet access and workspace conducive to virtual meetings and confidential communication in your home office.
  • The employee will be onsite 50% of the time at Path2Freedom safe houses or other program locations to provide supervision, support staff, participate in inspections, and coordinate with partners or DCF representatives.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • May occasionally be exposed to outside weather conditions when visiting program sites or attending events.
  • May encounter emotionally distressing or crisis situations related to client needs; trauma-informed training and debriefing resources are provided.
  • May be exposed to bloodborne or airborne pathogens in certain program environments; safety protocols and protective measures must be followed.
  • Specialized Equipment Used:
  • Standard remote and office technology, including a computer, printer, copier, phone, and video conferencing tools.
  • Company or rental vehicle for off-site visits, meetings, or community outreach events as needed.
