EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing or related field.
  • Five (5) years nursing experience.
  • Two (2) years prior experience in Quality Assurance (QA) or Compliance, preferably in a multi-site or high-growth healthcare setting.
  • Deep familiarity with pediatric clinical care standards and state survey expectations (with specific knowledge of Florida and Texas regulations preferred).
  • Expert understanding of interdisciplinary clinical collaboration models (nursing, therapy, nutrition, physician) and how to harmonize quality standards across these disciplines.
  • Proficient in leveraging Electronic Health Records (EHRs) for data extraction and reporting, with strong functional knowledge of basic data tools (e.g., Excel/Sheets) to manage and present care metrics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams).

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or equivalent clinical license.
  • BLS Certification.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to and from meetings, centers, and other business-related activities.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Exceptional organizational skills, strong follow-through, and demonstrated initiative to identify and resolve complex, ambiguous problems independently.
  • Proven ability to build rapport, communicate complex regulatory and quality standards clearly, and effectively influence senior and clinical staff.
  • Working knowledge of EHRs and best practices for data integrity and efficient clinical documentation.
  • Demonstrated agility and resilience operating in a growth-stage or fast-moving multi-site environment, requiring adaptability and proactive problem-solving.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time to conduct on-site audits and support multi-state pediatric care centers (FL, TX).

POSITION SUMMARY: Spark Pediatrics is committed to setting the standard for complex pediatric care. The Director of Quality will be the strategic leader responsible for embedding a culture of excellence and continuous improvement across all clinical centers. This role is pivotal in ensuring every child receives optimal, consistent, and measurable high-quality care while maintaining uncompromising regulatory integrity as the organization scales. They will develop and scale center-based growth strategies by standardizing and super charging De Novo and M&A openings.

Key Objectives

  • Strategic Quality Leadership: Design, implement, and oversee a unified Quality Management System (QMS) that drives continuous, measurable improvement in patient outcomes across all centers.
  • Risk Mitigation & Compliance: Ensure all clinical operations and facilities maintain full compliance with state and federal regulations (especially Florida and Texas), proactively reducing organizational risk and ensuring constant survey readiness.
  • Scalable Infrastructure: Build data-driven foundational systems and workflows that enable high-quality care delivery and compliance monitoring as Spark Pediatrics expands into new markets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Quality Improvement & Outcomes

  • Design and direct the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) framework, defining key performance indicators (KPIs) for clinical care delivery and patient goal attainment.
  • Develop, implement, and track processes to systematically measure and report on clinical performance and patient outcomes, utilizing data to inform strategic priorities.
  • Facilitate high-impact, quarterly interdisciplinary Quality Assurance (QA) reviews between center Directors of Nursing (DONs) and Medical Directors to address systemic quality challenges.

Regulatory Compliance & Audit

  • Oversee the formal internal audit program (including mock surveys conducted at least twice annually) to validate regulatory readiness and adherence to clinical best practices.
  • Build foundational systems and workflows to prepare the organization for scaling compliance and quality tracking across multiple states.
  • Identify significant gaps in compliance or clinical performance, and lead the development and execution of effective, root-cause-driven corrective action plans in collaboration with regional leadership.
  • Manage all center licensing, credentialing, and accreditation processes, ensuring timely completion and adherence to all requirements for both existing and new centers.

Leadership & Culture

  • Function as the primary subject matter expert and change agent for quality and compliance, influencing and training staff and leadership without direct reporting authority.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Operations and Operations teams on the implementation and successful integration of new clinical programs, systems, and technologies.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Operations to standardize, monitor, and enhance our EMR during both the implementation and scaling phase.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as defined by Executive Leadership Team.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 10-15 lbs.; Ability to stand for prolong periods of time and climb steps regularly. Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Due to the travel requirements of the position the employee will frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions. Additionally, the office environment may be subject to moderate noise levels.
