Position Summary:
A prestige beauty and skincare company is seeking a high-performing, analytically minded Director of Retail Sales to lead our Ulta Beauty partnership and oversee strategic account management for
Sephora.com,
Nordstrom.com, and
Revolve.com. This is a highly hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves role responsible for owning the entire retail channel P&L, executing sell-in and sell-through strategies, and driving high-impact retail marketing activations across key partners.
This person must be deeply experienced in ULTA — both in-store and digital levers like sampling, BOPIS, endcaps, GWPs, and merchandising. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of sales and retail experience in fast-paced, high-growth beauty or personal care environments and thrives in cross-functional collaboration, financial rigor, and day-to-day execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Ownership & Strategy

Own the end-to-end P&L for Ulta and .com retail partners, managing to monthly, quarterly, and annual net sales goals.

Build and execute account strategies for Ulta, Sephora.com, Nordstrom.com, and Revolve.com, including launch plans, visual merchandising, promotional calendars, and retail marketing initiatives.

Serve as the key point of contact for all account-related communication, negotiation, and strategy development.

Lead assortment planning, promotional cadence, retailer set-up and maintenance, and day-to-day execution.

Maintain laser focus on sell-through acceleration and gross-to-net margin optimization.

Actively monitor retail KPIs, competitive trends, and customer behavior to inform agile pivots.
Sales Operations & Financial Planning

Lead weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reporting and forecasting — including sell-in/sell-through analysis, margin management, and retail-specific growth levers.

Manage purchase orders and collaborate with finance, demand planning, and operations to ensure inventory health, accurate replenishment, and timely launches.

Participate in the S&OP process and help reconcile forecasts between retail partners and internal planning models.

Build and manage seasonal sales forecasts by account and by SKU.

Oversee PO lifecycle, ensuring timely orders, shipment alignment, and in-stock health.

Collaborate with internal finance and operations to manage demand planning, inventory flow, and weekly POS forecasting.

Review monthly retail sales and margin performance, identifying gaps and opportunities to optimize revenue and profit.
Retail Marketing & Omnichannel Retail Execution

Plan and execute all in-store and digital levers at ULTA including: sampling, endcaps, GWPs, BOPIS activations, and field support strategy.

Ensure accurate and conversion-driving PDP content across all retailer platforms, including SEO-rich copy, UGC, reviews, and image galleries.

Ensure all marketing assets are delivered on time and aligned with retailer specs, launch cadences, and brand messaging.

Collaborate closely with internal creative and brand teams to amplify key retail campaigns.

Coordinate all digital and in-store marketing asset needs between internal and retailer teams.
Insight-Driven Growth Planning

Leverage local store-level and market insights to unlock targeted, actionable opportunities.

Monitor sell-in and sell-through performance daily/weekly, using insights to inform tactical shifts.

Analyze POS data, traffic, and category performance to proactively identify risks and unlock growth opportunities.

Monitor competitive sets and adjacent category activity to inform marketing and sales pivots.

Use internal and retailer analytics platforms to maintain real-time visibility into performance.
Cross-Functional & External Collaboration

Serve as the internal hub of coordination across sales ops, marketing, education, and supply chain for all things Ulta and strategic retail partners.

Foster strong, collaborative relationships with retail buyers and planners, ensuring our brand is top-of-mind and proactively positioned for growth.

Develop presentations and strategic recaps to present to both internal executives and external retailers.
External Partner Management

Cultivate collaborative, trusted relationships with ULTA and .com retail buyers and planners.

Position our brand for visibility and share-of-voice within key beauty moments and merchandising initiatives.

Lead development of business recaps, QBR decks, and seasonal strategy presentations for retailer partners and internal leadership.
Sales Analytics & Reporting

Monitor POS, traffic, and sell-through weekly to identify trends, optimize marketing spend, and flag risks.

Deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly account performance recaps including sales, marketing effectiveness, and retail KPIs.

Use retailer portals and internal analytics platforms to maintain real-time visibility into performance.
Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in sales or account management within beauty, personal care, or CPG; startup or high-growth brand experience is a must.

Deep, proven experience and relationships with ULTA Beauty — both in-store and digital — including launches, forecasting, VM, sampling, and promotions.

Experience managing .com retail accounts including Sephora.com, Nordstrom.com, and Revolve.com.

Strong financial and operational acumen: must be able to manage margin, trade spend, POs, and reporting independently.

Proven success working cross-functionally with supply chain and demand planning, finance, marketing, and creative.

Advanced Excel and retail reporting skills; able to analyze data and make swift, strategic decisions.

Highly detail-oriented and organized, with strong project management and analytical skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication.

Must be a self-starter with a proactive attitude, strong sense of urgency, and a desire to execute with excellence — no task too big or too small.
