Position Summary: The Director of Sales leads and oversees all sales functions to achieve company revenue, profitability, and growth objectives. This role is responsible for developing strategic sales plans, directing regional sales operations, and driving performance through effective leadership, data-driven decision making, and strong collaboration with subordinate supervisors and cross-functional partners.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans that align with corporate goals, market opportunities, and long-term growth strategies.
- Lead sales forecasting, budgeting, pipeline management, and performance evaluation processes to ensure targets are met.
- Analyze market trends, customer data, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities and optimize pricing and margins.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate sales personnel to maximize individual and team performance.
- Establish and manage sales territories, quotas, KPIs, and sales performance expectations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and dealer networks to support sustained business growth.
- Partner with Marketing, Operations, Customer Service, and Product teams to ensure alignment of sales strategies and organizational priorities.
- Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, market analyses, and performance updates to senior leadership.
- Oversee product positioning, standardization, and simplification efforts to improve profitability and customer understanding.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and association meetings to enhance brand visibility and expand market presence.
- Provide market and customer insights to support product development, innovation, and lifecycle management.
- Monitor competitor strategies and recommend actions to maintain and strengthen competitive advantage.
- Manage departmental expenses and ensure adherence to approved budgets and financial targets.
